  1. Salmon with Creamy Dill Sauce, Garlic Broccolini, I'll think of the appropriate rice side between now and then. Of course, I'll be done with dinner by the time the game starts, so I'll probably snack on dill pickle potato chips or carrot sticks (w/blue cheese). And plenty of pinot grigio.
  2. I answered a question. If you don't like my answer, tough beans. And by the way, have you ever heard of apostrophes?
  3. I answered a question. If my answer bothers you, then tough beans.
  4. I'm not mad. It happened. I had no control over the outcome of the game. My life doesn't depend on what happens with my favorite teams. What makes me made is when my family and friends die before their time. What makes me mad is social injustice, including racism. As for 13 seconds: It was a game. Get over it. Move on.
  5. Was it Marv Levy who said "all coaches are hired to be fired"? Regardless, the statement is true.
  6. John Madden's been dead since December 2021. He dug up those quotes from some long-ago story.
  7. The story is written by Timmy Graham, which means it's going to be long. This guy really needs an editor. Very little that we aren't aware of. FWIW: This story reads like a total ballwash.
  8. This morning I was thinking, and I really hope that I'm not getting ahead of things, that whoever follows Josh Allen is going to be under an incredible amount of pressure. However, I hope that doesn't happen for quite some time.
  9. This news is a sad and cruel reminder that tomorrow is not promised to any of us. So do good today. You might not have the opportunity tomorrow.
  10. Never had a jersey. Probably never will. But I do have a "Buffalo Loves Kelly" sweatshirt that I bought at the long-since closed Kleinhan's at the Boulevard Mall. Never wore it. It's in a sealed bag in my closet.
  11. I read the column. I have no problem with it. It is sympathetic to the plight of long-suffering Bills fans and the enthusiasm instilled by a franchise QB like Josh Allen. Some excerpts: "I was reminded of that when walking around Bills training camp at St. John Fisher. There were countless little kids, holding their parents’ hands as they walked expectantly through the courtyard at St. John Fisher and toward the practice field. "Those children are too young to have had their hearts broken. They’re not dwelling on the 13 seconds against Kansas City, unburdened by cynicism. Their love of the hometown team is innocent, unspoiled. They’re wearing their little No. 17 jerseys and sharing a passion that has been passed down over the generations. "OK, maybe I’m going a little soft here. I’m still a trained skeptic. But it’s become increasingly clear to me that most Bills fans have a child-like faith and innocence when it comes to this team. Sure, they carry scars of past disappointments. But like a kid in the summertime, they’re living in the moment, filled with hope. "That’s it. Once you have the franchise quarterback, all things are possible. Allen has allowed Bills fans to rise above the old fatalism. Sure, the loss to the Chiefs added another chapter to the chronicle of woe. But if anything, it made people more certain Allen would eventually win the big one, and maybe more than one.
  12. I hope that this link will be available to the forum. My NYT subscription allows for a certain number of "gift" articles that can be read by non-subscribers. Much of this information has been discussed but the story does add some analysis to why the streaming services are setting their sites on programming like sports (i.e. Sunday Ticket). The story also adds a name to the mix that I haven't heard before ... and that's Google. The final paragraph also makes an interesting point; that winning the rights to major sports packages could be an "ego" thing for the streaming services. https://www.nytimes.com/2022/07/24/technology/sports-streaming-rights.html?unlocked_article_code=AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACEIPuomT1JKd6J17Vw1cRCfTTMQmqxCdw_PIxftm3iWka3DKDmweiPgYCIiG_EPKarskfMM0xSiAAcRdKrImQf10wapFPkNtVxLuooeBnN5NBRQJnr-JfzF82YPRD_d_-CX2b2K9JaB2nLS25BnebH3vDKKPzXEnIQZ6qcBvfUX523ZelvvBFLRziNFuzLx2UMABMDQFZyKItvDvGk8-bI3ANkeAn1FwD-JJWjjTnsqe7aYAdWhRAVHBTnB94AUs-Y8WeYNXbOukcUlWKIepiq4RC2doMI6jG5YwIoDfnLlrurfPwgeeFLDtTyXWTfrtXOjQTZ2_4Q&smid=url-share
  13. Apparently he still knows how to get under Bills fans' skin!!!
  14. BuffNews story reports on improvements to the Oishei Childrens Hospital that were funded in part by contributions from Bills fans. Those of us who contributed, take a bow. We helped support a great cause. https://buffalonews.com/business/local/josh-allen-says-grandma-would-be-ecstatic-about-patricia-allen-funds-3-million-impact-at/article_7144f46a-07a9-11ed-b34d-43bb539b3e26.html?utm_campaign=snd-autopilot&utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook_The_Buffalo_News&fbclid=IwAR2_1-vd1VW4mgORWmcTxGzZ0nap2ULVeTExOqlvrtOd6L80HFgRG4az_JY
  15. I didn't see the Diggs hot sauce. But I will be in WNY in late August, so I might poke around a Wegmans or Tops to look for a bottle.
  16. I saw these two Josh Allen/Bills Mafia sauces at our local Wegmans in Sterling, Va. I bought both, mostly to save ... along with my Kelly Crunch, Flutie Flakes, Terrell Owens whatever and Hasek hot sauce. (I never did get Peca Pickles). BTW I tried to search for Bills Mafia Sauce, but couldn't find a thread that matched. If there is one, feel free to merge it into that thread. Also, I had to compress the s**t out of the photo to get it to load onto the page.
  17. I called DTV a few weeks ago to ask about their streaming service. The person I talked with said Sunday Ticket is not available on the streaming service. End of call.
  18. As a fan of "the Dead" since 1967, I would say you have a valid point!
  19. Or as a Buffalo News columnist said this morning: "There was never a chance he (Diggs) was being shopped, contrary to whatever Doug Whaley thought. There’s a reason why he’s the former GM."
  20. And what does Tim Cook have to do with literacy? He has nothing to do with the Washington Post and its "Pinocchio" metric for lies. Or perhaps you don't have a clue.
  21. If you read a real newspaper, or ever paid attention in school, you would know that the apostrophe is grammatically incorrect.
  22. I just subscribed to the Athletic for $1 a month for six months. In six months, I'll cancel and wait for another $1 a month deal. That's what I did with the horribly overpriced Wall Street Journal. I'm on a $1 a week deal. In another five months I'll cancel and wait for another please-come-back deal. That said, I still subscribe to the NY Times for full price. Same with the Washington Post. They are worth it.
