AFC Championship Game Week Thread - Bills at Chiefs
Charles Romes replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
That sounds good on paper, and yes, all their bloggers desperately want Humphries at LT - as bad as Humphries has been - so their run game is not impacted in addition to having substandard LT play. But Mahomes, who is ultimately calling the shots on this issue, is said to be much more comfortable with Thuney manning the blindside. -
AFC Championship Game Week Thread - Bills at Chiefs
Charles Romes replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
Thuney has now had a few games at left tackle and has done better than others for the chiefs out there, but at the expense of the run game. More importantly, there is now plenty of tape of what Thuney struggles with at left tackle. Long arm Rousseau and Von should be making plays on short arm Thuney. -

The chiefs board sees Oliver as the guy on the Bills D to gameplan around. -
9 blue chip players to win a SuperBowl

I think this Bills team’s analytics department has cracked the code and has found a new way to win. Our top 3 receiving targets are bottom 12 in the league but our top 10 targets are number 1, and that’s how we stress defenses. -
That one foot in the UK is not a good look, and it has to be exhausting on the organization. One of the best things Terry did when he bought the team was to immediately end that dumb Toronto series.
-
Von is not going to be blowing away any all pro tackle these days but he’s still plenty good enough to expose what the chiefs have going on the left side of their line.
-
Chiefs have not had much time to throw deep with their pass protection issues.
-
I’ll take it.

Grable at left guard

If not for Cooper the game plan against the Bills every week would be to crowd the middle of the field and force someone to beat you on the boundaries. Just like the ravens and Texans game plan weeks 4 and 5. Cooper has destroyed this game plan by being on the roster and by showing significant success in the limited times he’s been targeted downfield since the acquisition.

This Bills O-Line is Super Bowl caliber!!!

I’m surprised top-shelf line coaches like Kromer don’t get poached for like $10M. They are irreplaceable. Half the teams are a complete train wreck at oline. -
Legitimate Concern With Officiating This Weekend?
Charles Romes replied to boyst's topic in The Stadium Wall
If clutching and grabbing is fair game Elam must play whether or not Benford can go. You go man and rush 4/5 all day, sending extra rushers to the turnstiles at the left side of their line. -
Dion Dawkins and the Bills ripped off - Baldy agrees
Charles Romes replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
It’s one thing to get flagged for doing something that’s not a penalty. It’s a whole other thing to get flagged when you have DOMINATED a rep. I was shocked when this happened. Don’t the refs know who Dion Dawkins is, and that he doesn’t need to hold? This is where the lack of all pro recognition can really hurt. -
The chiefs talking heads are talking about the players THEY did not have the regular season matchup.

There is a big difference between Allen flopping and mahomes flopping. When Allen flops he actually sustains a hit and needs to show the ref what the result would be on a regular QB who is not a 6’5 250 pound tank. Allen should not be placed at a disadvantage just because he has the ability to brush off massive hits like they are nothing.

It was brutal to get the prior first down smack dab on the 10.0 yard line. If it was the 11 or 8 game is over.

So we're moving on from Harbaugh right?

A total of 2 forced turnovers in the playoffs since 2018. -
Being nitpicky: please let Allen pass the ball more

It seemed like Brady was on a mission to prove to the owners he’s interviewing with that he can win even with a Trent Edwards at quarterback. -

Really an amazing job to hang onto the ball with that tomahawk chop at the end. -
Interestingly, most of the Ravens fans agree that Allen would have driven the Bills down for the FG: https://forum.russellstreetreport.com/showthread.php?293737-Even-if-Andrews-had-caught-the-2-point-conversion%85

The chiefs have one serious weakness but it’s a big one. They don’t have a left tackle. They tried four LTs this year and they finally put their all pro guard in at LT, and the guard position is being manned by a replacement player. If they had Dion Dawkins at LT they would be 6.5 point favorites in this game and 4 point favorites if they had Ryan VanDemark.

If the QBs games were reversed, we would be hearing endlessly about how Allen had two careless turnovers and that’s why he’s not a great clutch QB. As for the two point conversion, we would be hearing about how the pass could have and should have been better, especially given the slippery conditions and that the pass was going to target that had a brutal drop earlier in the game and who was just fumbled earlier in the fourth quarter. On the podium after the game, Allen would be telling everyone that his 2 point conversion pass needs to be better in that situation.
