Ravens at Chiefs - who do you want to have their third loss?
sven233 replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
As of now, no....I don't think KC loses at home to either of those teams. Call me crazy, but I am not sold on DJ all of a sudden becoming the second coming of Josh Allen. I need to see a little more from them before I take them seriously. Washington is really inconsistent as well. Could they lose to these teams? Of course, any given Sunday, right? But I don't see it as of now especially when the get their WR room back at full strength. The Ravens just blew out the Browns. They always beat Pittsburgh it seems although they could be tougher games if the Steelers get their defense right. And the Bengals don't have a QB and may not for either of these games. I am sure the Ravens will lose a couple of games, but after the Chiefs game, I can't find 5 losses. You could maybe get me to 4 more, but I don't see them losing 5 more times with the talent on their roster. -

The Ravens. I'm just so sick of the ego that fan base has. And the nonstop s*** talking of Allen & trying to discredit his MVP season is ridiculous. They've been sharing clips of Chris Jones recently saying Lamar should've been MVP & saying "see, this is why we respect the Chiefs & not the Bills..." as if CJ didn't say the exact same thing about Allen just 6 months ago. And don't get me started on how much hype they invest in passer rating... John Elway had a career 79.9 passer rating! It's not a serious stat! If you can throw a TD pass & have your passer rating can go DOWN, it's not as valuable a stat as Ravens fans make it out to be. -

I thought I heard/saw a stat last year saying Allen was super-effective in play action. If so, yeah, it's a mystery why we don't do it more though maybe Miyagi is right. -

Simple. If you really care about being truthful you should not care about winning.

Thank you. My wife has been much better today. She did have a minor episode where she had a dry throat, coughed, and had the instant headache, but it didn't last long at all and the throbbing pain was a lot less. She has a doctors appointment on Monday. Best wishes to your wife. Undiagnosed conditions are so frustrating and frightful. -

I was 600, added my tickets, and it froze on me while checking out. Logged back in and I was like 15000 in the queue. Awful.

It depends on the defense as well. If the safeties refuse to come down to the box, then just keep running the ball. Those who do All-22 said Miami refuse to load up the box even when Cook was running successfully. Instead, they opted using 4 DTs at some snaps. One complaints from me is the lack of successful runs behind Cook. Davis looked regressed this year. If we are able to run successfully with Cook and Davis, I think opposing DC may think twice about play for pass.

It’s amazing how much the Ravens have catered to Lamar and built a team for him to be successful. Every year he was complaining about not having this or that and every year the Ravens met those demands. Then they go out and get Henry and it’s still the same result. What else can they do for the guy? This week their podcasters are saying “Lamar can’t do it on his own.” What do you mean he can’t do it on his own? Isn’t he a 2-time (shoulda been 3) MVP? Isn’t that what an MVP is? They assembled a dream team for the guy. It’s pretty absurd if you go back and follow the timeline.

Other than Brady, who I disliked for the same reason, I’ve never seen another QB who pads stats in blowouts quite like Lamar. When the Bills get up big, Trubisky comes in. When the Ravens get up big, Lamar throws even more. We can argue all day whose fault that is. Maybe Harbaugh figures it’s safer to have Lamar pass with a big lead since the conventional wisdom is to run clock by keeping the ball on the ground. But McDermott clearly doesn’t think it’s worth exposing Josh to a freak injury when the game is in hand, and Josh goes along with it. The Harbaughs like to rub it in, and Lamar doesn’t protest too much. But unlike Brady, it’s also pretty hard to think of a single Lamar postseason highlight, or even a game where he played out of his head but the team collapsed around him. Last year in Buffalo, he threw a pick and fumbled in the first half, but nobody remembers it because of Mark Andrews; in the previous playoff game against us, of course, he threw a pick-six in the end zone while driving for the go-ahead score. Lamar does pretty well in his wildcard games against inferior opponents. But he has six TD passes, five interceptions, and no rushing TDs in his divisional or better playoff games. Josh has ten TD passes, one (1) interception, and five rushing TDs in such games — stats that either mirror or exceed his wildcard performances. It’s become fashionable and “correct” to talk about what a great guy Lamar is and how good of a quarterback he’s become. I’m not going to argue with any of that. But to say they’re interchangeable…. I don’t buy it. Josh Allen is the better QB, he deserved last year’s MVP, and he deserved the one before that too. Period.
