Yes. There's 5 episodes with the last on Sept. 2nd.

So if I sign up for this HBO Max for 9.99 for the month, that's all I need, correct? That's actually not bad at all money wise. Very excited for the show.
-
Well for sure... I was teasing about the rubber mats and bike thing... but I am not sure this is the best decision for him especially if it becomes acrimonious... and move into him sitting out... I cannot image that would add value on the outside for a contract. Flip side is from his point... and if I get hurt what does that do... I just hope this resolves pleasantly...

There is 0% chance Cook gets $17M+, IMO. That's crazy.
-
I signed up to HBO Max for a month so let's go. Looking forward to it.

Cook is not going to be traded this year. Heāll either sign an extension or play out the season and become a FA (and get us a comp pick).
-
ih they don't agree on a contract and he refuses to play, does he get paid? does his current salary get removed from the cap?

@Alphadawg7thank you. I appreciate a well thought out post vs some of the stuff that gets posted. My position at this time is thus... He isnt' worth what he is asking for, and IF he holds out into the regular season, I trade him. Pre season I don't care, he stays healthy which is fine, get Davis more reps. The timing of his "hold in" is when it seems Beane and his agent have put in their final offers it seems. All I want is a Superbowl win like you do, but I said from the minute we chose Davis, I think he can start in this offense and we do very well. But hell who knows right? We will see as we see. And thank you again, I appreciate your response. -
If team feels that Davis is 80% the player Cook is at this point. I would look to move Cook whether as a piece in a player deal to fill a hole or for draft picks. I am against paying a RB when you have paid your Franchise QB top dollar. For me keep drafting and replacing. Money is better spent on the lines instead.

I had the same thought until I went and watched all his TD's. I know he only cracked 1,000 yards but 4.9 ypc and 18 rushing TD's (21 if you include the playoffs) weren't by accident. His vision inside the 10 yard line and his added physicality allowed him to score a lot of short yardage TD's that I don't think any other RB we've scored on our roster had since Shady would've scored (there's a a reason Josh only threw for 28 TD's). Same goes for the five 40 plus yard TD runs where his long speed is also unmatched since Shady. Let him play out the year and see if he can come close to that number again. Maybe increase his work load and go from there.

Just yesterday my wife brought up a butcher shop in Buckhead that is supposed to have a great reputation. We went there before a dinner party a few years ago to get boneless beef short ribs. The guy gave me a funny look, like I asked for a T-Rex tenderloin or something and said they could not accommodate me. He acted like it was impossible, but I knew I had prepared them beforeā¦.and I knew here I got them from. While standing right in front of him I called Whole Foods and made arrangements to pick up a boatload of boneless beef short ribs in 10-15 minutes. I never understood why I got such a strange reactionā¦ā¦instead of boneless short ribs. š¤·āāļø

The generational wealth thing is thrown around a lot in here. Are you saying that 10M/year for 4 years is not generational wealth? Frankly, if he signed for $10M/year with $30M guaranteed that is probably around $15 million in his pocket after taxes and agent's cut..... For most people, that's generational wealth and I don't think an extra $2-3 million (which will be $1M - 1.5M after taxes) will make it "generational" wealth if it wasn't already. It probably won't matter anyway because a great many of the guys that are focused on getting the "biggest" contract values end up broke anyway. It's just as easy to piss away generational wealth as it is a regular working stiff paycheck.

Great⦠go find elite players while hes on this team⦠keep pushing back money into the future to get these players if necessary. 10 years is very hopeful, and we all would love to see a 40yr old Allen still playing, but realistically weāre probably looking at 7-8 more years if weāre lucky. Once he hangs up the cleats, if it takes a couple years to rid the roster of all the dead money, who gives a sh*t. Iāll say it again, I understand you wanting to maintain a balanced budget, I just donāt care about that for the next 7 years .

This above is your opinion about what type of RB he is, what he is worth, etc. And I am not even in disagreement about some of it as I also don't think he is best used as a workhorse back either. But what I responded to was what you wrote in the quote below where I have bolded it. You seem to be holding it against Cook because he believes in himself and thinks he is one of the best RB's in football. You don't have to agree with him, but what else do you expect him to think about his skills? What is odd to me though is you are creating all these theoretical hidden meanings about how he really wants out and is using the contract demands as the tool to facilitate it. But none of that at all makes any sense when lined up with Cooks actions. There is literally 0% chance he shows to camp and practices if that was the case and risks injury. Think about what you just implied: You are saying he really wants out and all this is just some ploy to get traded to a team where he can be a workhorse. YET - this same player spent all offseason making it clear he wants to be here long term. THEN - showed up to camp, participated, and risked injury for some sort show pretending to want to be here despite really secretly trying to leave? Come on, lets not get into tin foil hat territory here. No player (nor would he agent allow it) would have ever set foot on the field in camp if their real priority and goal was to be traded. The second he gets hurt, the opportunity to get traded is gone, if that was truly his goal there is 0% chance he ever steps on the field at camp. He clearly wants to be here, there is no doubt about it, there just is no conspiracy to force his way to another team to be a "workhorse", none of his actions remotely suggest that. Your only evidence seems to be that you don't agree with what he thinks he is worth, and that isn't a conspiracy, that is a difference in opinion. Im not saying your opinion on Cook's value is wrong, I also don't think he should be paid what he reportedly was asking for, but this notion its all a ploy to get traded and he has handled it wrong I think is just off base. And I want a SB - I would rather have Cook and win a SB this year and lose him after this season then trade him now and lessen our SB chances. We are still a better team today with him on the team then without. So I don't personally share the trade him for something approach either, although I normally would if not in the middle of being a major SB favorite.

The timing on the Cook stuff is frustrating. Comes to camp, practices, then decides one day nah I'm sitting out. š Beane is smart enough and has the cajones to tell him hes under contract, you either play or sit the year. I understand the value to trade him would diminish but I don't think he's going to budge from whatever number he has on Cook right now (and it aint $20 mil or whatever he's asking).

A case of not liking being lost in the sauce?
-
None, or as little as possible. 2-3 series apiece for starting offense and defense in the Bears game and then bubble wrap them
-
Yeah, I donāt see a lot of money left on the table by the other players Beane has signed so I find it difficult to believe that he isnāt being fair to Cook.
