  1. Past hour
  2. Okay I nailed the first one. I was wrong on Coleman although I'd like to know how close I'd have gotten if he hadn't gotten injured. He did finish 2nd in yards and TDs which I don't think most fans would have predicted especially with him missing 4 games. I was way off on the last one. Nailed the Rams. I expected San Fran to take a step back and for LA to be better than people thought. I was way way off on the Bears. Every year one of my bold predictions is picking a 4th place to 1st place division team which happens pretty much every year. Of course last year was one of the rare occasions where that didn't happen so I was doomed to fail in any case. Texans and Packers were not as good as I expected. I earn zero points for predicting KC in the AFCCG. Lions I think would have been there if they weren't decimated by injuries.
  3. We should give all slaves reparations. Oh, they're all dead. Nevermind. If you can prove in court that slavery has negatively impacted your life then feel free to bring it to a courtroom if you think you have a case. Otherwise STFU and stop bringing up race. Morgan Freeman says it best:
  4. any day now there’s going to be a big crash!
  5. We need a rule against politicians suing media companies like this, or like the Trump vs. CBS for allegedly deceptive editing of the Kamala interview. We've opened a whole new stupid can of worms. This is not the same as the Dominion lawsuit, in which a private company was defamed.
  6. You were ranting and raving about Pelosi and Schumer. Try and keep up.
  7. Supply and demand being what it is, an owner will break ranks again and offer a QB a guaranteed contract. I just wonder about team unity when the QB gets the guarantee and no one else. I hope DeShaun Watson sends his agent a thank you card. That's up there with the Herschel Walker trade and Ditka's mortgage on Ricky Williams.
  8. Terry Pegula famously runs a flat management style where anybody can bring him anything and he becomes the arbiter. Fairburn just wrote a whole article about how Adams got to speak out of pocket to Pegula since day one. And you think when Brandon says "Terry don't let him leave without a contract" Terry is turning around and saying "STFU Russ, not your job, you've been relegated to marketing" Lolz. If it weren't for Brandon's missteps the Bills would be trending like th Sabres. Russ Brandon is basically Kevyn Adams 1.0.
  9. This story flew under the radar for obvious reasons. But it's a terrible precedent: the U.S. government effectively taking an ownership stake in U.S. Steel. Last week brought us the Golden Share. No, that isn’t a James Bond movie, or a detail from the Steele dossier, although the plot is as sinister. It’s the Trump administration’s first step to nationalize the steel industry. In exchange for approval of Nippon Steel’s merger with U.S. Steel, the government receives a single preferred share, which includes voting rights and all sorts of control over U.S. Steel’s ability to close factories, invest capital and relocate jobs outside the U.S. This “Golden Share” is a bad idea. Nationalization is a fool’s errand, a slippery slope to fascism’s “government controlling the means of production.” Don’t do it.
  10. Oh, the shades of grey defense. IMO that is " ignoring the law".
  11. The MAGA guys are much younger than that. Vance is 40, for instance. MTG is 50.
  12. I have no opinion about why this guy was denied admission and turned around because I don't know the relevant facts. I do know the relevant law and longstanding policy: you will be admitted as a visitor if you "qualify" as a true nonimmigrant (that means you're not planning to stay longer than the authorized period, usually 90 days, you're not planning to work without authorization, etc.) AND you are not "inadmissible" for some reason. Having a political opinion contrary to the USA's political posture at the time is not a ground of inadmissibility. Having various criminal convictions, including those related to a controlled substance, is. Having admitted (or shown, e.g. on social media) may be considered a ground of inadmissibility, but traditionally it would not be invoked - we allow probably hundreds of thousands of admitted marijuana users to come in to go to Phish concerts, etc., every year. So there is a story here which could have to do with what he was carrying or what smartass thing he said (about drug use?) or maybe an overzealous inspector a little too concerned about JD Vance's feelings. Which one, I don't know.
  13. And yet here you are OP...discussing what they want you to talk about. Thats how it works. Turn off the tv, stop reading CNN etc. Life is very good once you tune it out.
  14. Yup. Once McBeane arrived, he was just the President in name only. He had nothing to do with the players or coaching. They could have kept him or not and it wouldn’t have made a difference. Here “a minute” means 2 years so…7 minutes. And yeah, Josh being here for another decade is the expectation. With or without McD and/or Beane. That’s been settled for awhile now. There’s no denying they’ve sucked. The point has been the Bills are significantly more important and are successful, as are the rest of Terry’s teams.
  15. Just once, ONCE, it would be refreshing to see an insincere thank you thread. One dripping with sarcasm and spite. Is that too much to ask?
  16. Wasn't there someone named "I eat crayonz" that used to rile people up back in the day??
  17. What is your source on that is my question. a supposition is one thing
  18. Love it. This is one step away from the great Neil Gaiman/Terry Pratchett line in Good Omens: “It may help to understand human affairs to be clear that most of the great triumphs and tragedies of history are caused, not by people being fundamentally good or fundamentally bad, but by people being fundamentally people.”
  19. I don't KNOW but I have always suspected that the Gutekunst interview was a solid for him. I suspect Beane and he knew each other (they are a couple of years apart in age and both from North Carolina).... because the timing of it was odd. The interviewed Brown, Beane and Gaine. Then they interviewed Beane a second time, then a couple of days later brought in Gutekunst. I think he wanted Green Bay to see him as a coveted candidate. You will recall at the time that everyone in Green Bay knew Ted Thompson was not well and not much longer for the role. There was basically two "teams" in the Packers personnel department at the time - team Wolff (Eliot) who most people assumed was the heir apparent as his dad was Thompson's predecessor and team Gutekunst. Gute was definitely seen as the outsider and to that point had limited outside interest whereas because of his name Wolff had taken multiple GM interviews by that stage. I think Gute needed the people in Green Bay to think "man we have two really sought after guys here" to give them a choice to make.
  20. John Thune is on the record for not trying to override the parliamentarian's decisions. This is the way the Senate decided to do things. And, of course, that same parliamentarian also found certain Biden "budget" provisions outside the scope of the reconciliation process.
  21. I'll go with idiocy here. Politically speaking, how are you going to hand out large sums of money based on race? Just crazy, imo
  22. If that’s the case, I’m on pace to have been posting for 400 years by Christmas. Too much pride
  23. While it seems you may have missed the intended spirit of my reply, I understand what you're saying. Your perspective is different than mine, and divergent opinions make the world an interesting place. I would like to offer some additional perspective to clarify my thoughts: In response to my post, you said this: Where did I say I look down on painters. I didn't say that, though I guess I can see why you feel I inferred it. In your original post, you said: "Had some poor ***** painter..." and later described that individual as "...someone so stupid". On this message board, asterisks typically replace words that are considered derogatory, uncivil or offensive. You defined the individual by his/her occupation, seemingly suggesting his occupation was relevant to being poor and *****. I was uncertain if his/her being a painter was as important as him/her being poor, *****, or "stupid". So, I asked. Thank you for clarifying. As for 'creating angles', again, I think we're on the wrong track here. In your initial post, you asked "I mean how do you talk to someone so stupid." In response to this query, I shared some basic strategies on how you might talk to someone given how you positioned the interaction. In spite of your characterizations, I feel comfortable I have a pretty solid skillset based on my life experience, understanding of course that seeking positive continuous improvement is part of the journey. Remember, make respect your default. The rest follows.
