Why would anyone want Daboll back? His overall offensive pedigree sucks. Yeah, he was instrumental in helping Josh in his early development but Josh outgrew him. The NFL is tough and unique to other sports. It is a 'strike while the iron is hot' as far as careers go, and useful careers are short. Players come in and are starters/contributors very quickly. They better group of that gets healthy and lucrative 2nd contracts. There really isn't too much of a development window, and if there is, it is just a season or 2 on the active roster. There is no need for a development league for the NFL other than the free one they have with the NCAA. The better players are now getting paid well there. A player in the CFL who is doing well and is 26 years old is already impossibly behind the curve. There is also a finite number of hits and punishment bodies can take. Taking hits while riding the buses in the minors only wastes career and brain matter.
