We're in the 2028 positioning period. Booker didn't catch fire at all the last time around. He is viewed as a more centrist, and so he's trying to pick up support from a more left wing black base. Interesting, though, that his "baby bonds" concept is now part of the Republican pro-family plan. It didn't catch on with Dems, but it caught on with Republicans.

Mass media can dish it out, but can't take it?

I have not been to Mass in a very long time. They have media now? Father Prevost would not like that. -
Mass media can dish it out, but can't take it?
Madbillsfan replied to kitchen sink's topic in The Stadium Wall
Only 3 guys prepare for their show. One refuses to learn anything before he was born. They all play victim when they are accused of anything. Golf talk is boring. Personal golf talk induces coma. They contribute to nepotism. Did I forget anything? -

In theory, I have no quarrel with the concept. Our forebears allowed/encouraged people to be shackled and transported to the USA to take advantage of free labor. A strong reparations act c. 1870 would have been fair and good. But there's no way to decide who is entitled to what 150 years later. No one has come up with a workable concept, at least not one that doesn't get us involved is some kind of government-sponsored Henry Louis Gates genealogy project (you qualify if at least one of your great-great-great grandparents is proven to have been enslaved for at least 5 years or something like that). The remedy would be worse than the disease.

Go BOLD - 2024 NFL bold predictions 2024
HappyDays replied to GunnerBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
Okay I nailed the first one. I was wrong on Coleman although I'd like to know how close I'd have gotten if he hadn't gotten injured. He did finish 2nd in yards and TDs which I don't think most fans would have predicted especially with him missing 4 games. I was way off on the last one. Nailed the Rams. I expected San Fran to take a step back and for LA to be better than people thought. I was way way off on the Bears. Every year one of my bold predictions is picking a 4th place to 1st place division team which happens pretty much every year. Of course last year was one of the rare occasions where that didn't happen so I was doomed to fail in any case. Texans and Packers were not as good as I expected. I earn zero points for predicting KC in the AFCCG. Lions I think would have been there if they weren't decimated by injuries. -

Supply and demand being what it is, an owner will break ranks again and offer a QB a guaranteed contract. I just wonder about team unity when the QB gets the guarantee and no one else. I hope DeShaun Watson sends his agent a thank you card. That's up there with the Herschel Walker trade and Ditka's mortgage on Ricky Williams.

Pegula Divests from Knight Hawks after pulling out of Rochester Lease
Mango replied to Mango's topic in The Stadium Wall
Terry Pegula famously runs a flat management style where anybody can bring him anything and he becomes the arbiter. Fairburn just wrote a whole article about how Adams got to speak out of pocket to Pegula since day one. And you think when Brandon says "Terry don't let him leave without a contract" Terry is turning around and saying "STFU Russ, not your job, you've been relegated to marketing" Lolz. If it weren't for Brandon's missteps the Bills would be trending like th Sabres. Russ Brandon is basically Kevyn Adams 1.0. -

This story flew under the radar for obvious reasons. But it's a terrible precedent: the U.S. government effectively taking an ownership stake in U.S. Steel. Last week brought us the Golden Share. No, that isn’t a James Bond movie, or a detail from the Steele dossier, although the plot is as sinister. It’s the Trump administration’s first step to nationalize the steel industry. In exchange for approval of Nippon Steel’s merger with U.S. Steel, the government receives a single preferred share, which includes voting rights and all sorts of control over U.S. Steel’s ability to close factories, invest capital and relocate jobs outside the U.S. This “Golden Share” is a bad idea. Nationalization is a fool’s errand, a slippery slope to fascism’s “government controlling the means of production.” Don’t do it. -

I have no opinion about why this guy was denied admission and turned around because I don't know the relevant facts. I do know the relevant law and longstanding policy: you will be admitted as a visitor if you "qualify" as a true nonimmigrant (that means you're not planning to stay longer than the authorized period, usually 90 days, you're not planning to work without authorization, etc.) AND you are not "inadmissible" for some reason. Having a political opinion contrary to the USA's political posture at the time is not a ground of inadmissibility. Having various criminal convictions, including those related to a controlled substance, is. Having admitted (or shown, e.g. on social media) may be considered a ground of inadmissibility, but traditionally it would not be invoked - we allow probably hundreds of thousands of admitted marijuana users to come in to go to Phish concerts, etc., every year. So there is a story here which could have to do with what he was carrying or what smartass thing he said (about drug use?) or maybe an overzealous inspector a little too concerned about JD Vance's feelings. Which one, I don't know. -

And yet here you are OP...discussing what they want you to talk about. Thats how it works. Turn off the tv, stop reading CNN etc. Life is very good once you tune it out. -

Yup. Once McBeane arrived, he was just the President in name only. He had nothing to do with the players or coaching. They could have kept him or not and it wouldn’t have made a difference. Here “a minute” means 2 years so…7 minutes. And yeah, Josh being here for another decade is the expectation. With or without McD and/or Beane. That’s been settled for awhile now. There’s no denying they’ve sucked. The point has been the Bills are significantly more important and are successful, as are the rest of Terry’s teams. -
Just once, ONCE, it would be refreshing to see an insincere thank you thread. One dripping with sarcasm and spite. Is that too much to ask?
