Ketanji Brown Jackson: Embarrassment
MattM replied to BillsFanNC's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Not the question I asked. Nice deflection. What were Gorsuch's? To stick with the quantifiable, her academic credentials are superior to his, no matter how you slice it. She made law review--he didn't. Despite working 20-30 hours/week on law review as an editor (no matter how she got on), she graduated with the same honors he did. The dirty little secret conservatives don't want to admit is that there are so few of them at elite educational institutions that they can almost instantly become public stars on the right, either on the bench or at think tanks. Smart liberals are relatively a dime per several dozen in those spaces. In his case, having a mother who was a Cabinet secretary under Reagan (a political nepo baby, if you will) certainly didn't hurt. Full disclosure--I was in his law school (and, coincidentally, also college) class. He was considered smart, but not brilliant. Obama (who graduated magna despite working 40 plus hours/week as LR EIC) was widely considered brilliant by people on both sides of the aisle. Didn't know Gorsuch in college, but did know him socially in law school through mutual friends (including Ken Mehlman, former RNC head who ran W's 2004 "Guns and Gays" campaign that maligned gay people to whip up the base--of course, 5 years later Ken comes out of the closet--and says "oops!") and got along with him on a personal level even if my politics are very different (much like the worlds we came from). Very disappointed in him on the bench so far, including his lying to the Senate at his confirmation hearings on Roe. -

With Kincaid, Buffalo is 7-1 this year....
MPL replied to Kelly to Allen's topic in The Stadium Wall
Kincaid had 6 catches for over 100 yards in that game. I know. And if Kincaid had 8 or 9 catches instead of trying so hard to get Coleman involved, they likely win that game. -

The man is up late each night tweeting away on truth social. His sleep I am guessing is erratic which does not help keeping awake. Maybe go to sleep and put down your danged phone/ tablet/ whatever. just saying. It makes sense and would explain at least part of it a guy who falls asleep in the daytime I think as we age we need naps though. Is that a sin? NO . Just don't pretend you are some invincible person He's not superman. and I'll be nice and leave it at that When he sleeps he cant lie and blather and troll as he LOVES to do. Sleep more naranja.

“To say Jayden Daniels will never be Mahomes, when Daniels’ projectory and numbers already look like this and he is in the running for MVP only FIRST season is absolutely asinine. Speaking of Goat you're making Mahomes sound like the GOAT and he isn't. One of the best quarterbacks of his generation, and an elite QB? Absolutely. But can he be lapped by Daniels if Daniels’ projectory continues to rise, ABSOLUTELY. How long did it take Mahomes to look they way he did? I'm pretty sure his 2nd year maybe 3rd. This is Jayden Daniels 1ST season.” -Commanders fans last year

As I said in the other thread, I thought it was an honest take. The guys injuries and rehab hours have to take a toll. I don't imagine it always feels like fun even if that's the perception people have because of the money/fame.

This place implodes when someone, anyone looks like they might be injured.

Had a few great nights drinking iron city. good memories. -
They had a knack for making everything hard. I remember them pouring baby oil all over the Twister board to make it more challenging.

Any of you bastiches have sciatica?
Behindenemylines replied to Chautauqua Mafia's topic in Off the Wall
I have sciatic pain but deal with it through strength of will and Tito’s mainly. I hate taking any type of medication so rarely take Tylenol etc. the heavy duty stuff doesn’t really help me anyway because I don’t have the correct neuro receptors for it to work-found that out the hard way after a nasty accident. but from my experience observing others with pain of all sorts is that pot seems to be a miracle. And for the religious crowd- I was involved with a catholic run organization for tires priests and nuns. Virtually all of them kept a few joints or gummies on themselves and they had major smoke circles going daily. Seems to be fine with the almighty -
I agree, that's why I rated them lower. That offense has been way too inconsistent. Bo Nix is not in the upper grouping yet and for whatever reason, the defensive style of play just isn't as suffocating as Houston. I think part of that is how Houston plays screens. They're the best team in the NFL at defending the screen. Combine that with that pass rush and it just gives us problems. But with that, they aren't explosive offensively. It should be a very intense close game.

Well I’m not much of a cat person. We had a cat years ago. Then when my daughter was born the cat became jealous, went psycho and attacked my wife. We evicted the cat and animal control took care of him. Personally, I think Biden betrayed the party when he attempted to run for a second term. He originally claimed to be a one-term bridge President. Then the allure of power and his hubris lead him to run again. The party and country would have been better off with a traditional primary to find a new candidate. Watch an interview of Trump from 20 years ago. Then listen to him now doing “the weave” talking about batteries, sharks, Hannibal Lector, snakes, 500% cheaper drugs and whatever other nonsense he spouts. Then tell me what % Trump is operating at now. My Dad had dementia and did “the weave” all the time. I know it well. Trumps neurologists are concerned enough that they have given him the dementia test several times now. Then he brags about being the smartest they have ever tested being able to remember woman, man camera… etc. Eventually, they will just need to give him his cheese burger, a pillow, and put Fox News on the tv so he can have happy thoughts for nap time. They might be close to that time now. Of course Republicans can’t discuss the topic now because that would indicate some degree of frailty with the ageless golden Don. Maybe after another 3 years of watching a declining, sleepy old man, both parties might be able to find common ground on an age limit.

https://larrybrownsports.com/football/joe-burrow-bengals-comments-have-fun/730644 “If I want to keep doing this, I have to have fun doing it,” Burrow said. “I have been through a lot. If it’s not fun, then what am I doing it for? That is the mind set I am trying to bring to the table.” I’m not surprised to be honest. Some interesting comments from Joe.

Matching up with playoff contenders

Texans and potentially KC are the toughest matchup imo If we get the Texans at home in the AFC championship, I think it will be an extremely tough game but the bills would win -
Game week thread - Bills at Patriots*
EmotionallyUnstable replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
Some people are just so selfish. Higgins ran a deep over and he ran through Thompson’s zone. That is a very common occurrence in pattern matching in zone for a LB. It is not like they’re lining him up 1v1 against a receiver and asking him to play man. -
