Roster Support over the past three years (Beane)
Bill from NYC replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
Great point about the OL. Dion Dawkins is excellent. He will also be 32 before next season. He is listed at 320 lbs. but he looks heavier to me. My point? The Bills should always be going after OL depth and talent in the draft, along with of course wide receivers. Why? Because Josh Allen is our quarterback. McDermott wants to build around cornerbacks and DTs. This has been his signature from day one. The season is not over. The Bills can come back. That said, the Atlanta game was as bad as I have seen them play in a very long time. Would McBeane trade a first round pick for Waddle (who is rumored to be available)? I don't know. They might need that pick for another corner. -
Ya, every team had to deal with Covid, not having the resources has more to do with Bad Budget Beane than any shutdown

I kinda assumed the connotation on the response. You’re one of the best, most thoughtful, and insightful posters. That’s why I said I didn’t want to be nit picky.
BTW- I agree we have missed too much on drafts. He has picked up some decent trades and free agents overall, but we are still on the 10 yard line, not the touchdowns.

Who do we have to cover the Chiefs receivers?

I blame Covid for taking our already perilous financial timeframe and drowning us to this point. Of course we’ve blown early picks. Too many to count now. But we haven’t had the resources to sign top tier FAs since.
-
Don’t blame covid for busted draft picks and terrible free agent contracts
-
at least we aren't the sabres

JAG players are what you get when your QB is paid $40M per season. My answer is trade early picks for established very good players (Josh Norman, Floyd, etc.) Just don’t forget, we now live in financial purgatory because of Covid and the significant cut in funding. We’re still trying to get out from under it.

Candidly, Josh Allen.

We need a solid receiving threat before we take the field again! Then, with Defensive reinforcements arriving, I believe we’ll be alright -
Yeah, we got THAT goin’ for us..🤦♂️

If ‘grim’ is in the title, Tim Graham is the subject. Or shows history shows.. -

More identity and less outsmarting everyone, and this team is still totally legit this year. I do still want to see a solid receiving option and some intimidating LB's in the off-season, or before, though. -

Couple that with the Bills' Legion of Room defense and the non-stop injuries...it's a wonder we even make the playoffs this year. Seriously. -
Jake Browning was throwing to Chase and Higgins too.
-
Paying two guys like Chase and Higgins on top of your qb would leave a team with crappy oline and no defense. Your qb would probably be hurt regularly and your defense wouldn’t be able to stop anybody. Like what the Bengals are right now. Would you prefer that situation for Allen?

The interior of the oline has been brutal in pass pro. The Oline as a whole has stunk against blitz pick ups. Glad this piece is confirming what I think most of us have seen with our own eyes - a bad oline with WRs that can’t get open is not optimal.
