Frank Layden, former Utah Jazz coach and GM, dies at age 93 Associated Press Jul 10, 2025, 10:18 AM SALT LAKE CITY -- Frank Layden, the sharp-witted former coach who led the Utah Jazz to the playoffs for the first time, has died. He was 93. "Frank Layden made a lasting impact on the Jazz, the state of Utah, and the NBA," the Jazz said in a statement Wednesday. "There will never be another like him. Our thoughts go out to his family as we join in mourning his loss and celebrating his life. Rest easy, Coach." Known for his humor and sideline antics, Layden coached the Jazz from 1981 to 1989 and had 277 wins, third most in franchise history. He is the only coach in Jazz history to be named NBA Coach of the Year, earning the honor in 1984, when he also was honored as Executive of the Year. Born in Brooklyn, New York, in 1932, Layden began his coaching career in the high school ranks before moving on to coach at his alma mater, Niagara University. He made the jump to the NBA in 1976 on Hubie Brown's staff with the Atlanta Hawks and became the New Orleans Jazz's general manager in 1979. https://www.espn.ph/nba/story/_/id/45705501/frank-layden-former-utah-jazz-coach-gm-dies-age-93 SBU remembers Frank. .

MAGA: Morons Are Governing America

This is the most incompetent team ever assembled. -
Hot to me applies to the top 10% of the population. Cute…that’s different. I could see why some would consider Mahones to be better looking than Josh from the neck up, but from all other aspects…not a chance. He’s got that over privileged spoiled brat whose parents never told him no attitude, plus he runs like he has a 7 Iron permanently lodged in his bum. Correct…refs win playoff games (for the Chiefs anyways).

Agreed. In fact, that old Redskins logo & jersey is the reason I became the only Bills fan in my family of all Redskins fans. I was a little kid, and my first game was the Bills vs Redskins Super Bowl. I thought the maroon & "gold" with an Indian face looked so ugly, but the other team with the red helmets, blue unis, and charging buffalo logo looked so cool! I couldn't understand why my family was rooting for the ugly team, so I cheered for the other guys. My dad was just happy I was into football & that his team was winning. But then I just stuck with them. All because the Redskins looked ugly to me 😂 -

We don't know what specific legal arguments Smith was prepared to present but let's not recognize the case was dropped because of politics and pretend politics didn't have anything to do with the charges. Plainly, Democrats were willing to go to great lengths to disqualify Trump from running and its obvious why. All those cases had the stench of political motivation. Like those photos of "top secret" documents scattered on the floor. Bush league level theater and completely unprofessional. I'm quite disappointed in Patel and Bongino. Both claimed to know where all the bodies are buried. So start digging. To this point these Wolves have acted more like Lambs. Lots of talk and no action. If they have legitimate evidence get on with it. -

I mean, if you’re comparing the McCabe prosecution to the Smith ones (which you did), you absolutely were. -
Not at all. I believe Hancock is competing for one of, if not the final spot. I posted in another thread about how he is a sleeper for me on this team. Strong? He was an 6th rounder; irrelevant in itself. But imo? Exactly the same as Hardy last year, a practice squad guy imo. I don’t disagree that he’s talented and a potential steal where he fell but out of all the guys in the 5th to 7th rounds, the only guy I’d hang my hat on as having anything as a great chance would be Hancock. I may be wrong and I’ll happily accept it if so. Again, Hancock was highlighted as competing for the final spot on that DB room and he is a guy I posted in the “sleeper” thread for what it’s worth.

My wife thinks Mahomes is way "cuter" than Josh. While I want to, how can I possibly say she has terrible taste in men?

These were all just honest mistakes. The FBI has committed to fixing things going forward. - The King 😂 -
Exactly. we're 3rd because we play six OL so much. Bet the league gets wise to that this year and we throw more.

I wasn’t talking about questions on apples v oranges, and of course you know that. It’s all good though, sometimes people surprise you. Have a good night.
