  2. Map and List of Cities Hosting 'No Kings' Protest Against Trump on June 14 by Khalida Rahman "No Kings" rallies will be held in cities across the country to protest President Donald Trump and his policies on his birthday, June 14. The 50501 Movement (50 protests, 50 states, one movement) and other groups are protesting a military parade scheduled to take place in the nation's capital on June 14, coinciding with Trump's 79th birthday, the U.S. Army's 250th anniversary, and Flag Day. Multiple protests are being held in various cities in each state, but no events are being planned for Washington, D.C. Organizers say that a major march and rally will take place in Philadelphia https://www.newsweek.com/map-list-cities-protests-trump-june-14-2081284
  3. Rasul definitely hit a wall if there wasn’t some unreleased injury. Plus, I think a lot of folks here are focusing on Dane Jackson’s performance away from the team more than his performance in McDermott’s scheme. He’s a serviceable backup on this squad. Tre I’m not so sure about. I’m honestly surprised they brought him back, but if he can be a coach on the field for these rookies during camp and the preseason there’s some hidden value.
  4. Yes, the WSJ is doing the best reporting on this now. On the opinion side of that same newspaper, this also strikes me as accurate: https://www.wsj.com/opinion/china-trade-talks-donald-trump-tariffs-f730f437?mod=hp_opin_pos_1 Developing an alternative supply will take years and require cooperation with allies because the U.S. can’t produce and process all the rare earths it needs. Japan has pitched a rare-earths alliance as part of tariff negotiations, and the Administration would be wise to expand such a partnership with other allies. This gets to the larger problem with Mr. Trump’s tariff strategy—that is, he doesn’t have one. His latest walk-back shows he can’t bully China as he tried to do in his first term. China has leverage of its own. A smarter trade strategy would be to work with allies as a united front to counter China’s predatory trade practices. Instead, Mr. Trump has used tariffs as an economic scatter-gun against friends as well as foes. This increases China’s leverage, and, like this week’s trade truce, that’s nothing to cheer about.
  5. You can pen it in. And I wasn’t saying the right was going to kill anyone. I didn’t say the left would. But tensions are so high, some moron, on some side, will start something and violence will ensue. We’re sitting on a tinder box right now. And Drumpf saying he will arrest protesters (without that caveat of them being violent protesters; ya know, going against that pesky 1st amendment) isn’t helping. But there will be violence by either protesters or counter-protesters because people can’t ***** behave themselves. It’s a 💩 show. The whole thing.
  6. I don't call them illegal alien foreign invaders because that's not what I call them. You can call them whatever you want. I take it from your response they haven't directly impacted you either? I can also post a story about a shark attack or a plane crash. Should we no longer swim in the ocean or fly? It's statistically proven immigrants commit crimes at lower rates than US born citiczens. https://www.nber.org/papers/w31440 I'm not debating they should be here. I'm laughing at you over your outrage for something that you will never feel.
  7. I didnt know that he must be graduating early... not something a lot of 16 year olds can do... impressive!
  8. Yea that is the point in the boundary thing. It's not an issue until it is. You can beat 75% of this league within minimal boundary threat. But when it comes to it against the best teams and the best coaches they are going to force you to beat them outside if they don't think you can. It's classic Belichick. I'm going to take away what you do well and make you beat me another way and if you do, fair play to you.
  9. Talas live at the Primitive Scene... aka Devils Rock. The last time I went there was to watch boxing matches! A very good friend of mine was the sound guy for Talas for a while and I used to get the opportunity of hanging out with "the guys" when I attended their gigs. There was also a place near Lockport that I can't remember the name of right now that they played at occasionally in the later part of the 70's. They were without a doubt one of the hottest local bands around at the time that's for sure! There was another band named "The Nightlife Pickers" for a while and then they shortened it to just "Nightlife" in the late 70's and early 80's that did a slew of gigs all around the Batavia area. All of the guys in that band were good friends of mine and we lucked out with their scheduling and got them to play at our wedding reception in the fall of 82. I'm fairly certain we must have bumped into one another likely more than once from reading a bunch of your posts concerning the Batavia area.
  10. And yet - when I posit this exact framework to you regarding national identity - you turn blue trying to tell me why my people deserve to be replaced. Snake.
  11. I just *keep* hearing rave reviews about Elijah Moore. Obviously let's see what happens when the pads come on but it would be great if we had a major find
  12. I'm still trying to remember if it was 'Edmunds' or 'Edmonds'. I still need to RSVP his invite for his high school graduation.

  14. March for Arch?
  15. Perfect! Johnson is clueless enough to wade into the middle of a soccer fan brawl, assuming it's adoring fans wanting to embrace him. Rid a few professional leagues of a PITA owner. 🤨
  16. This was my only problem with this pick is his availability to be on the field and injury red flags
  17. We shall see. I sincerely hope I am wrong, but something like this may impact Hairston’s chance to be the day one starter we all expected. Off season reps are extremely important for rookies. And someone brought up a good point earlier about Cole Bishop and how his off season injury last year had a significant impact on his preparation and ability to compete for the starting job. I really, really hope this injury to Hairston does not linger.
  18. I was talking more tactically than strategically. They can usually hide the hole by running more horizontally than vertically, but it should definitely create some breathing room against better defenses in elimination games if they can find somebody to threaten defenses outside the hashes.
  19. I believe the term is Canning for Manning...
  20. Moore's speed is something that has been sorely lacking. If he can primarily play outside it's a huge win. And both his and Palmer's ability to separate are things that were lacking last year. If they can out-produce the combined output of Hollins/Coleman/Cooper (I suspect Shakir may be the top producer again), they'll be fine.
  21. Overall, maybe so. But I think with regard to production in games against better teams they need to threaten more on the boundary to open up the field for the slot/TE routes. We found that out in Baltimore last season. Shakir missed the Houston game but it was a similar situation........the Texans took away the Shakir/Kincaid area of the field and Allen failed to connect with Hollins and the result was disastrous offense. They needed and got better play on the boundary to beat KC at home and to produce like they did on the road at LAR and Detroit. They got it but it didn't come easy. Wasn't the walk-in TD days of Diggs/Brown/Davis. Even on paper it's not a surety that they are better outside. We hope Coleman is better than Hollins(because that's likely his role) and that Palmer threatens defense's more than Cooper........but teams were legitimately concerned about Cooper because he'd been one of the most explosive outside WR of this era.
  22. Seems like a few on here don't want to pay to watch something that they aren't required to watch. They just want to complain about the cost of watching it. I can tell you that I can very much afford it, but even I cut the cord on the DirectTV over a year ago when Sunday Ticket got (in my opinion) 'not worth it'. And it's only gotten worse with YouTube. So....I now share the price of a 'subscription' with my Son-in-Law, and we watch the Bills games as a family. Issue solved! I've found that I really don't care about watching the Seahawks and Chargers playing somewhere later in the day. There are much better things to do with three hours of my weekend.
