I agree 100%! I got roasted last year for saying Josh is soft. He is a great QB - but he has a sulky attitude. -
Impressive. Everything you just said is wrong.
-
Josh will play out his final years for the Rams or Niners back in his home state., or maybe he will retire early and just enjoy life outside of football.
-
On your last point, that is my biggest concern. I think from a motivation standpoint yesterday will be a wakeup call. However, the problems with this roster can't be fixed in-season now that the trade deadline has passed. I think we'll see more games like yesterday this season unfortunately. Our WRs are BAD.
-
We have the second best QB in the division. No need to panic.
-
Instead of bringing in proven coordinators who might have their own concepts they want to run, you promote: - Ken Dorsey (fired after 1.5 seasons, fired against the next year by his next team) - Joe Brady (biggest thing going for him is he wasn't Ken Dorsey. 2nd biggest thing is he'll build the offense McD wants) - Bobby Babich (another puppet hire- who may or may not even perform his own duties right now) Then you big contracts to: - T. Bernard (who alternates between injured and a liability) - M. Milano (same as Bernard, only he'll count 12mil dead cap next year to not play for us) - D. Knox (who you replaced on the depth chart right after signing, and is now a 8 digit/yr blocker TE) - G. Rousseau (who is earning a top-10 edge def contract but has never been mistaken for a top-10 player) - T. Johnson (was great during his first extension- now is mercifully out of the lineup, being outplayed by his backup) - C. Benford (deserved a raise as CB1, but extended after several injuries and is now a major question mark less than 1 season after signing for top-15 $) - K. Shakir (solid player, earned a contract but is making 13mil aav to be a role player and can't be the focal point of our passing attack) - E. Oliver (who might be a force if he could stay on the field and find some semblance of consistency) And most of these guys have been good players, some have flashed to greatness- but there's an awful lot of money tied up in those names that you'd have to feel better about if it was going to a proven, ELITE difference maker (of which we have only Josh Allen and James Cook...) I remember after the 2023 season it seemed like we were poised for a rebuild year- we were OVER the cap heading into the off-season, injuries had piled up, we had fired our OC mid-season and McDermott hadn't chosen a DC yet. Diggs was erratic and eventually bullied our front office into moving on from him, requiring us to absorb a MASSIVE $30mil cap hit for the year. Had no choice but to roster a (seemingly) washed Von Miller for the year due to the big cap hit. We ended up over-achieving last year, and made the AFCC game despite injuries and lack of top shelf talent and I think that's caused us to double and even triple down on the "process" instead of going full reset, dumping bad contracts, finding proven coordinators and trying to poise ourselves to better compete before Josh Allen turns 30 (not gonna happen now). People were looking for a big move at the deadline this year, but the fact is we've spent too much money right up tot he cap AGAIN this year and the majority of our home-grown contracts aren't paying the dividends we need.

Milano is our lightest and shortest.

More than ever we are starting to see a team that is listless here and there... when the Bills players feel they can just show up and because they are THE BILLS, a win is all but guaranteed. We are not getting max effort on several games this season. You can see it on the field. Against KC, these guys showed and absolutely gave 100% on every play. Yesterday was far from it. I blame it partly on McDermott. The process or whatever they call it isn't working anymore. McDermott is nearing his expiration date.

Watching Josh stand up press conferences and fall on his sword after these games is pretty stale. I'd like to see Beane up there and asked some real questions!

I haven't been this down on the Bills for years. In a third of their games this season they have looked completely unprepared and listless. There is no leadership, and the captains (Allen and Bernard) are nowhere to be found when the team needs to get their collective heads out of their asses and play ball. Allen sulks on the bench by himself and Bernard can't call anyone out because he is playing like garbage. Teams have figured out the Bills offense and have zero fear of the passing game. Media is laughing about how predictable and simple the offensive game plans are. Brady was handed the job because he was familiar, not because he had any sort of track record running an offense. And he is proving how limited he is. The Bills don't have great WRs, but they have guys that have played at a decent level in other situations. Other teams figure out ways to get average WRs open. Hell, KC was famous for their crossing routes and barely legal pick plays. Was Brady sleeping through all those games? All he seems to know how to do is screen plays to Shakir. Allen had 3.5 seconds to throw on average yesterday. The most of his career. The Dolphins didn't even need to pressure Allen to shut down the passing game. Allen holds nobody accountable on the field or off and offers up a "they wanted it more" after another ***** game. How the hell can a 2-7 team with no shot at the playoffs "want it more" than a team fighting for their division and a playoff spot?! I know that response is the generic answer after a loss, but how do you offer that up as an excuse? Yesterday's game virtually guarantees that the patriots win the AFC East. They have a very easy remaining schedule and the Bills will have to finish a full game ahead of them due to conference tie breakers. The Bills most likely lost their division yesterday because a 2-7 Dolphins team "wanted it more"! Let that sink in for a minute. It is a crappy day to be a Bills fan. -
Thank heavens for practice squad call-ups Um - Diggs and Hollins used to be our WR's, we ran one out of town, and cheaped out on the other guy.

Reasons I won't panic: - We still have Josh Allen - Despite not being as consistently elite this year, he is still the best QB in the NFL - The d-line is better than previous years. Need a little more health but I actually believe they can get to the QB this year. That matters a lot in January - The run game is strong - Offensive line is good - Not as good as last year but still a strength - Josh Allen (again) - Youth/athleticism in the secondary - Bishop and Hairston will continue to have growing pains but they look good Reasons I will panic: - The WR group is bad. We didn't improve it at the deadline. And now Kincaid will miss time - The linebackers have been bad all year - Lots of injuries - Extremely poor play calling both in key situations and on unscripted drives - Roster construction is not good - Likely won't host a playoff game Items to be determined: - It appears there are a ton of eggs in the Josh Palmer basket. I hope he's ready - There might be some eggs in the Gabe Davis basket too - The Chiefs and Patriots are still the only AFC teams that truly concern me. I guess the Colts with JT but I still expect Jones to crap the bed when it matters - We should get healthier? - Will we adapt? - Was this a wakeup call or a sign of things to come?

This. He sulks. Something is way off for him. Whether it's the rumours about his new wife having mental health issues and questioning the marriage on twitter. Who knows, surely not I. But there is something wrong with him and it shows. Oh, and our roster sucks. -
It's possible the players are starting to tune McDermott out. After 9 years and not getting to the big game despite having 17 as your QB I could understand if the team is starting to feel that way. Many Bills fans(myself included) seem ready to move on from this FO. It feels like this team is getting worse not better and a change may very well be needed.

That’s just recency bias. He didn’t look too broken after the Chiefs game. Look at most QBs that lost yesterday and you’ll say they looked similarly “broken”. I think “disappointed” is the right word.
-
Yeah sorry not buying it. This team is cooked. No pun intended. I think Josh is tired of this lame shyt offense and not getting any help . You could see it in his body language. My prediction is they finish the season 9-8 and miss the playoffs by a country mile. I saw a team yesterday that had no fire yesterday and just didn’t want to compete. They just went through the motions. This team is broken and all the bad decisions made by the front office and coaching staff in the last 5 years have now come to a head. There are some core pieces but there is way too much dead weight at too many critical positions for this team to becompetitive any more. it is going to take a huge overhaul to get it fixed. I just Hope Josh stays interested. i have my doubts. What an absolute disaster.

It's a two man race right now between Stafford and Jonathan Taylor but we all know what position has the better chance of getting the award

4th and 1: fake tush push into pass play
dorquemada replied to SunDSolar's topic in The Stadium Wall
Brady is in love with his own brilliance. There's no amount of objective evidence that will change his brilliant schemes. To paraphrase Naomi Klein, Brady's scheme cannot fail, it can only be failed -
They should have run a fake punt flea flicker.

Hard Knocks had nothing to do with Beane's choices the last few years.
