Reasons for optimism - Allen, the great RB room, healthy Milano, T Johnson, Kincaid, Bosa and clear improvement from Coleman. I mentioned this when Coleman was drafted, but he is size and speed wise very similar to Tee Higgins and Michael Pittman who were drafted at the top of the 2020 draft’s 2nd rd. Higgins year 1 - 67/108 908 6TDs, year 2 74/110 1091 6 TDs Pittman year 1 - 40/61 503 1 TD, year 2 88/129 1082 6 TDs Coleman year 1 - 29/57 556 4 TDs, year 2 ???? I wouldn’t be all surprised if Coleman doubles his targets. If that happens, he could easily get to 1000 yards. Remember, he average 19 yards per catch last season.

Bills Initial Roster - No real surprises
Rocky Landing replied to GASabresIUFan's topic in The Stadium Wall
I agree. I think the problem a lot of fans have is that they'd rather have a good CB (or other skill position) who was also a returner, rather than a good returner who was also a CB. The same fans bemoaned the roster spots held by players like Taewan Jones, Siran Neal, Cam Lewis, and others who've been primarily ST players, and only play their listed position in an absolute pinch. Codrington is a first rate P/KR-- as good as Hines, or Andre Roberts IMO, and the numbers back that up. It makes absolute sense to me to have a dedicated P/KR, and depth players who have aptitudes as gunners, jammers, and blockers often make the 53 over players who are better at their listed positions because field position matters. -
https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/buffalo-bills/cap I've been keeping an eye on this, as they had us just slightly over the cap on the Top 51. I figured maybe there's something small that they didn't know about. And that we'd cut or trade some people that would free up some space. But we didn't move on from any potential cap clearing players. Now that we've moved from 51 to 53 and paid the Practice Squad, we're listed as 7.9m over. Either there's some restructures coming, there's been one or more that we aren't aware of, or some type of other transaction will have to occur. As we not only need to be cap compliant, we'll have to come up with at least a couple million more for in season spending.

Not a bad point, and true. But it kind of emphasizes how it's a little more of a homer take.

Allen vs Mahomes, is this a controversial take?
ChronicAndKnuckles replied to zow2's topic in The Stadium Wall
Another great irony I’ve noticed is generally Chiefs fans are the opposing fans who give Allen the most respect. I think because they know just how hard it is to beat Josh Allen. Kind of how I feel about the Ravens. People give Lamar crap, but that was the hardest fought most physical game the Bills have had in quite some time. And it was Lamar’s team who ultimately let him down (sound familiar?) -

Anybody post this?

Which of the guys on this list might actually help the Bills this season? I can see Gore helping in a pinch; possibly Logue, but the rest seem like cannon fodder. Jackson, Phillips and Poyer are done as NFLers. I’ll revise this post and add I think Green and Feeney would be adequate fill ins on the line if pressed into service.

@4merper4mer you'll like this one. Volpe made two outs in the Yankees 9 run 3rd inning including striking out with the bases loaded to end the inning. And apparently the boos rained down on him. Can't be too many times in history a home team put up 9 and the inning ended with boos.

I think Michael Hoeht, Joey Bosa and Joshua Palmer might pop more than we think, but for me the optimism is that they did not overreact and blow things up. Instead they addresses the areas of most concern. I also like the way they are stacking the practice squad with player like Poyer and Phillips, who can player-coach younger players and be there for break glass in case of emergency situations for a game of two.

My significant other doesn't know my Two Bills Drive screen name either. -
I think as always under McD, we have a solid team and roster for the most part. Alot of it comes down to who gets injured and when. Not just the Bills, but the rest of the league. By week 4, there will be multiple superstars on IR all over the league. I can't say that we are better or worse than last year until we get going.

I hardly follow hockey. Just watch it when nothing else is on. I follow Notre Dame football. Similar to Penn State, always relatively good, just not good enough. -
Great post, describes why I can’t stand popular modern music. It’s created using a cult leader mindset of producing catnip for the masses. There’s no individual artistic expression, it just regurgitates thoughts of the fanbase. I’m old enough to remember when bands released albums the fanbase hated, because they followed their heart. Almost every act had these albums, Swift never will because it’s so carefully crafted.

I think the point here is to respect the laws put in place because it gives structure for our lives. I don't think Paul was stating that we need to blindly agree and support murderous dictators. Personally I dont see Trump as a murderous dictator. -
Just Curious what were most surprising cuts NFL wide?
HappyDays replied to Jistafan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Rookie EDGE Bradyn Swinson cut from the Pats was the big shocker to me. Admittedly I hadn't followed him through training camp or preseason but he was widely mocked in the early/mid 3rd round and I know some draft analysts really liked him. He fell to the 5th and the thought was that the Pats had gotten a steal. Instead he was waived on cutdown day and went unclaimed on waivers, and ended up on the Pats PS. Not sure what happened there, I guess the draft analysts were just way off on him. -
Allen vs Mahomes, is this a controversial take?
RoscoeParrish replied to zow2's topic in The Stadium Wall
@C.Biscuit97 raised the point that if Allen was a 3 time SB MVP and 2 time MVP, and Patrick was just a 1 time MVP who couldn’t beat him in the playoffs, Bills fans would outright reject a “razor thin” margin between the two players. we’d probably call Mahomes a loser and nowhere close. -
I feel bad for Hamler as he seemed like a great guy who loved being part of the Bills, but he has had two years to make his case and they must feel he is topped out. Time to give someone else a chance there. Same for Davidson really. He did not show improvement this camp, and in fact, the opposite overall. New Blood time. Neither was surprising.
