Well, I hope the can get together. I don't think Cook is worth what what he wants. He's a back who has to be in the right situation to be productive, and Buffalo is the right situation. If someone gives him a big contract and he underperforms on a team less successful than the Bills, one day he'll be sitting at home counting his money and wishing he'd played for a winner. It's his choice, and I'm sure that's what Beane is telling him.

He averages 150+ yards a game in a starting role (Behind that OL, with that QB and with other backs to take the load off him so he doesn't break down) Cook is a heck of a player, and he improved last season for sure. But ain't no-one confusing him for Saquon, Henry or CMC as far as being a game wrecker in his own right.

Of course you can take 4-6 weeks off mid-season to not practice or play. Its done all the time. They still linger. Terry McLaurin had a high ankle sprain at the end of LAST SEASON, and was put on PUP at the start of training camp because it was still bothering him... after 5 months of off-season. Head Coach Dan Quinn said "Yeah he had an ankle at the end of last season and its not uncommon for that to linger all the way to training camp".
