Boring is really good... no acrimony, drama, or otherwise foolishness in training camp... that is what I was hoping for a nice safe dramaless show that pictured the team in a close family like togetherness... all good so far... the cook signing removed the major obvious drama opportunity.

I liked it, they started getting into more marginal players on the roster and telling their stories. I also liked seeing McD showing his personality more. The coaches is what I looked forward to seeing most. McD seems like someone whose in command and the players have bought in. The assistant coaches particularly the coordinators appear to be high energy guys.

His vision is elite or close to it. -
Knox's relationship with Josh got him that contract and he will never be let go. Josh's best buddy.

Google AI Overview: 3 A Kansas City Sun Fresh Market, located at 31st and Prospect, has closed its doors due to persistent issues with empty shelves and declining conditions. The store had been struggling with low stock, a bad smell, and a general state of decline, with customers reporting empty coolers, a lack of produce, and a lack of hot food or deli options for months, according to KCTV. The closure follows a period of financial assistance from the city, but ultimately, the store was unable to recover. The Sun Fresh Market had been facing problems with fighting, shoplifting, drug use, and public sex, contributing to the overall decline of the store and its eventual closure, reports the Kansas City Star. The closure leaves the community with limited grocery options, particularly in an area that had previously received millions in public and private investment to support the store's viability. “It was a supply chain issue” -you 🤦🏻🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♀️

Yea I’ve always been on the fence with Torrence. I think he’s the type of player that will get too big of a contract when he hits the open market so if the Bills want him they’ll have to extend him early but I don’t know if he warrants that attention yet. The Guard market has started booming mostly due to the lack of good blockers in general in the NFL. I think you’ll see the Bills use a draft pick in the 3rd or 4th round next year on a IOL guy next year. If you look at the Beane philosophy/Panthers they paid their centers and tackles first before guards If you also look at the contracts on OTC or Spotrac, the 2026 year is a good year for the Bills to get out of a lot of their heavier contracts

Who’s had better talent around them? Rank 1-4 Allen Mahomes Lamar Burrow And maybe you put Allen above Burrow, given the drop off after Chase/Higgins/Hendrickson, but the best player Allen has ever played with is Diggs.. who choked in the postseason. It’s not a meme. The lack of high end talent that step up in big moments has been a major issue for this team. Where would you rank Diggs amongst Kelce, Jones and Hill? Dead last? And that’s the best we’ve given Allen.. I’m shocked this team hasn’t gotten past KC.. shocked. I might be lukewarm on extending a RB, so I’m hoping he’s more Kamara and less pure RB, but at least Cook stepped up when it mattered. More than I can say for any supposed talent we’ve given Allen so far.

I liked the anecdote McDermott told about the coach throwing the chair through the window to motivate the players before the game . . . and then, next week, he had nothing. That's a crucial difference, I think, between steady leadership and what I'd call "performative" leadership. A lot of people are attracted to the "throw chairs through windows" leaders, but IMHO that is fool's gold. It may work for a game, or even for a season, but it's not a consistent winning strategy, as anybody who has had such a boss can tell you.

And here’s the thing? You want to pay Josh Allen $55M? Yea you damn well better be sacrificing weapons off the cap

Then Cook holdout #2 😡

The summary story on ESPN app includes the top contracts on the Bills roster. What shocked me is that Groot is making close to TWICE what Cook got. I don’t recall the big dust up over that deal. I can’t see how Groot is worth that sort of compensation….geeez!

At one point the bills surrounded Allen with an elite WR, an extended TE, a 1st round TE, a pro bowl caliber Tackle, high priced interior talent, and an excellent slot player. The bills may have never had Marvin Harrison but I’m really getting tired of this meme. Without Josh Allen the bills have an elite OLine, high quality TE play, and legit quality OC, a potential high end outside WR, an elite slot, and solid WR depth. Replace Allen with Baker Mayfield and this team makes the playoffs. With or without James Cook. Heck you could probably replace him with Sam Darnold or Bryce Young this team makes the playoffs

Read @DrDawkinstein comment - Cook is, in absolutely 10000000% whatsoever, going to be the reason they can't sign McGovern in the future. This whole "Cook's contract is going to cost the Bills players in the future" narrative needs to end, and needs to end quickly

His salary this year wasn’t factored into the equation for Kyren Williams. James Cook was playing this year on 1 for $5M. This extension is paying him for 2026 and beyond.

I thought something was in the works. It wasn't just that Cook was back practicing but when asked about Cook, McDermott seemed to be fighting to keep from grinning. Seemed he knew something.

What I always loved about HK was the personal stories and the guys on the fringe fighting to make the team. I love watching my Bills, but they aren't really showing anything at stake...yet. -

Warrior, believe last year's oline was the best oline Josh has had as a Bill, and it showed. That protection and that blocking was the tide, besides Josh, that raises all ships. We had a lot of turnovers on defense, but had a Dickens of a time getting off the field on third downs. Josh's O, with that line, made up for a lot. My understanding was the larger, albeit not much larger, guaranteed money has the greater effect on other contracts than the APY. However, YD, I am a novice at best so that really isn't in my wheelhouse of understanding. -
I realize it’s next offseason but I wished I shared your optimism n the plenty of money front. Even so, there’s no room to do McGovern now. He will have to play out this year and then they hope they can get a deal done before free agency, assuming they want to. If that’s the cost of securing Cook I am ok with that.

Not sure, but I'm positive some on here will blame it on Cook
