He’s hardly the first excellent QB to owe some credit to good defensive performances in the playoffs. There was a guy in NE who is the GOAT who famously had some great playoff defenses.

The NE Patriots have shown how quickly a franchise can reverse its fortunes if they pick the right QB and the right coach. They should have been picking first overall in April, and now they have to be viewed as a legitimate Super Bowl contender. There is no reason the Jets can’t do the same thing. Even after the trades, I think they have more talent on the roster than NE had last year. (The players they smartly acquired from Indy and Dallas are not nothing, either, and help fill out the roster.) For the record, I don’t think Aaron Glenn is anywhere near the coach that Vrabel is, and I’m not sure there is a Drake Maye in this draft, but the Jets have an excellent chance to pick first overall, so they will have the field to themselves. And if they don’t like this year’s QB crop, they can just amass more talent in 2026 and pick one next year. They are certainly in a much better position now than the Dolphins.

Sure, and now the Bengals are going to miss the playoffs for the third straight year Burrow is very good. He is elite passer and arm talent, he is also (not necessarily through his play) a big reason why the Bengals are going to miss the playoffs again this year

Did I say Burrow was crappy? Do I think the 10-7 Bengals Super Bowl run was completely on the shoulders of a QB who threw 5 touchdowns to two picks in four games? Probably not.

Honestly part of Burrows availability problem is probably due to the fact that they throw it so much. The guy takes 40 or 50 sacks a year and that's nowhere near how many times he gets hit. Maybe if they could run the ball and control the line of scrimmage Burrow would be around when they need him to throw to those high dollar WR's.

Burrow has won exactly one playoff game where the opponent scored over 20 points. If the Bills defense held teams to 20 PPG (it’s actually 18 in Burrow’s 7 playoff games) in the playoffs Josh would be 10-3.

Just to be clear, I’m not by any means saying Burrow isn’t an above average QB. I’m simply suggesting he’s a significant step below the truly elite signal callers in the game today. He’s top 15 in the league for sure.

You're gonna get flamed because the narrative has always been Burrow is "elite" and people bought into it And people will point to his amazing season at LSU. In which he had not only Chase, but Justin Jefferson to throw to. I've LONG said he's not elite. He does have some good traits. But take away Chase and or Higgins and he's not winning you games by himself. He's also the QB of a team that has often found themselves on the bad end of a game script. He pads his stats late in games far too often. Half the time just flinging balls in the direction of Chase who bails him out with amazing grabs. Now saying all that, I do not say he is a bad QB or talentless. But people wanna stick him in the top 3 or top 5...and that's nonsense. I could maybe be talked into the 6-10 tier. That's pretty funny. But it's also pretty accurate.
