I just like how everyone in the media is talking about the penalties the chiefs had and that pi call at the end of the game. But there is crickets when it came to the clear pi that was not called on that Shakir play.

What did you do to cause the Bills to lose?
DanDrasticHill replied to Miyagi-Do Karate's topic in The Stadium Wall
I am allowed five negative comments about the commercials per game. With each comment, the Bills play worse but will still pull out the win if 5 or less. 6 or more comments will guarantee a loss. I try very hard to ignore the commercials, but I pointed out how annoying they are a few times, and then they kept showing drone shots of other stadiums and I angrily commented on them several times. Big mistake as I didn't realize those counted until it was too late. I have a similar superstition about commenting on the commentators. But what can I say, Collinsworth has my number... -

The Chiefs looked like this last year, but had a bunch of inexplicable wins. This year, those wins are turning into losses. They just don't have the firepower anymore. Kelce is old, and he was the one big difference maker on offense. Mahomes seems to feel like all the pressure is on him, and it is. We'll see what Rice looks like when he comes back. Maybe he is what they need. But their defense hasn't been that great either.

I feel no pity for the Bengals. Their FO (and the HC for as much say as he has in personnel decisions) set that team up to fail because they didn't build a complete team. All they have is a excellent QB and a couple of great WRs. They have a crappy OL (and have had one for years), no running game to speak of, and a defense that's Trey Hendrickson and a lot of bodies. I feel for the Bengals fans. The Bills teams in the Drought Years were as mismanaged as the Bengals by an owner/FO that put maximizing profits ahead of winning football games.

The Refs and this “rigged” league
Generic_Bills_Fan replied to Big Blitz's topic in The Stadium Wall
Felt like the chiefs got away with a ton of defensive holding in this one as they often do to me. Was kinda surprised they flagged that late one based on the rest of the game tbh…I wonder if they were aware they blew that Trevor INT dpi and were actively trying to even it out -
They gave KC a swing call on the goaline fumble. So how does that work exactly? The great teams get some calls, same as Jordan got some calls. The conspiracy stuff to nudge teams further ahead would risk the entire NFL empire along with it's billion dollar gambling sponsorship. Some refs just aren't very good. Some don't like certain players/coaches/cities. You can get some bias. It's funny watching people turn into a pretzel to build the conspiracy angle.

I understand, but then you have the issue of what is “blatant”? I think if you look at all 22 players on the field you can find “blatant” infractions more than you think.
-
Why do you think that? I think it will be like most years where 10 wins gives you a good shot to get in, especially with a lot of the top teams losing games already.
-
Both the Bills and Falcons like to run the ball too much to get into that kind of a shootout. Plus, statistically, Atlanta's D has been really strong through 4 games. They haven't given up 300 yards yet. And I don't think Penix is on the level of Allen, Stafford, Mayfield or Darnold (of the past two seasons).
-
Tom Brady likes the Bills. The Bills are in the circle of trust now! We're winning the SB!
-
That both the Chiefs and Ravens might miss the playoffs really didn't seem possible even two weeks ago. The Ravens defense hasn't been nearly as good as everyone thought it would be before the season started, and the injuries have just about sunk them, especially to Lamar and Madubuike ... Lamar may not play again this week. Meanwhile, what the hell is up with the Chiefs???? They got up 14-0 early on, and then seemed to think they'd already won. Then the Chiefs had a INT in the end zone negated by a PI. They had a long KO return following the 99-yard pick six negated by a penalty. Butker kicks out of bounds after the Chiefs go-ahead TD to give Jax the ball at the 40. Then to put a cherry on top, Chris Jones just stands around watching Lawrence scramble into the EZ after falling twice! The Bills aren't the only team to play a clunker in a prime time night this week. Maybe it was the full Harvest Moon.
-
Sucks for the Bengals, looks like a real shot if they had Burrow.
-
The Ravens aren't trading anybody. The worst-case scenario for them is a late-season run to try to make the playoffs, just like Cincinnati did last year.
-
Agreed - it might actually be getting to a point the league might be worried the country wants nothing to do with the Chiefs in another SB and there time as darlings is over. They’ve moved on to Washington Chicago and New England. They need those teams QBs and their franchises to be relevant.

It kind of made me more annoyed actually. It shows how easy the path to the #1 seed could have been if we didn't drop any of our easier games. The Bills have a dumb loss or two like this every single year and it is usually the reason we are playing on wildcard weekend. Then we inevitably lose a couple key defensive players heading into the divisional round. I guess before the season I would have signed up for 6-1 heading into the Chiefs game so we're still on track but I don't think we can drop any other games like that and we have to win at least one of KC/PHI/TB. 14-3 still gets it done I think. The Colts are the team that worries me the most. They have a very easy schedule and they've shown an ability to steamroll their inferior opponents. We need them to drop at least 3 more. Their toughest remaining games are at KC, at Chargers, and at Seattle.

What I am talking about are those Blatant misses ! Go look at the DJB reply where it shows the missed PI on the Chiefs player that while the ball was in the air knocked the Jags player to the ground and it wasn't called . EVERY ONE in the stadium, the broad cast booth, the retired ref that is now a announcer, knew that it was a blatant missed penalty and it was caught ON CAMERA for the entire world to see, YES those plays need to be reviewed !! I'm not talking about reviewing every- single - player to see if they committed a penalty because as you said there are penalties on every play especially on holding penalties on the O line there could be a penalty called every play ! I'm not talking about nit picking . But there were a lot of calls especially last season in the AFC Championship game that were IMHO blatantly missed to help the Chiefs to possibly do a 3 peat and those calls that change the out come need to be at the very least looked at and allowed to be over turned if they are found to be of that nature .
-
If so, I wonder if the Ravens would trade Awuzie. Shouldn’t cost more than a late rounder if indeed you feel a trade is needed.
-
But that’s not reflected by the data for any crew other than Hercules. I don’t doubt he said this but I will doubt how accurate that particular ref is regarding how officials view Josh’s ***t talking. Maybe Hucchuli has an issue. I’d buy that.

Game week thread - Bills at Falcons MNF
Johnnycage46 replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
So, looking at ESPN stats through week 5, Atlanta's defensive rankings: #1 in yards per game at 244/game. #1 in pass yards per game at 135/game. #16 in rush yards per game at 109/game. #15 scoring defense at 21.5 pts/game. #6 third down defense at 34.1% Going to be a tough game. They are coming off of their bye, have a load of skill position talent on offense and have a good defense. I hope the loss to NE woke up the Bills, if not, we're looking at a 2 game slide heading into the bye.
