Game week thread - Saints at Bills

Alright I hate that Spencer is nicked up. This line is monstrous. Sit him down and get him healthy. -

So you're sayin Rosen still has time to turn it around and be the right Josh? Sweet!

This is just him voicing his opinion. You may not agree, but nothing wrong here. It is not the President or government influencing a network as with Kimmel.

Survivor Pool Week 4......who ya got???

Still Alive is the Key ... Thankfully it's only a 18 week season and there are 14 teams I won't need to touch. I get what you're saying about using better teams up early but you never know if there is a next week in a single loss elimination game. Ask those who picked the Packers or Falcons this past week you just never know. -
https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/46356840/nfl-tush-push-rule-disconcerting-signals-officiating-philadelphia-eagles-kansas-city-chiefs Didn't see this posted yet and thought it was interesting article. Chiefs were trying to simulate Hurts cadence on the Tush push to get the Oline to jump early. It should have been an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty. As the article points out with crowd noise and distance from the QB and defense it would be hard for the official to hear it. Something maybe to watch for in the future.

According to accomplishments- I agree with you. According to the eye, Allen is the best. Out Allen on Brady or Mahomes’ teams and they win similar sbs if not more. winning Super Bowls is a team accomplishment but the QB is judged on winning championships more than any position in sports. He has none, so he can’t be considered the best in most circles- but if you were starting a team of any QB in history, I’d bet plenty of non Bills fans that know the game would choose Josh 1st. He’d be my unquestioned 1st choice. Steve Young would probably be my second choice followed by Mahomes, Rodgers and Brady. Marino most likely next and ahead of many QBs with SBs

Is really shaping up to be the greatest of all time. There are 2 HOFers so far and Baker’s stock is rapidly rising. Sam Darnold is still young enough to turn it around, but is also trending upwards although no where near the former. No SB appearances really hurt this group. Pure production is astronomical. Where do you see this draft compared to the 83 QB class ? There are 2 SB wins in that group but also there TEN appearances which is incredible. Elway and Marino are 2 of the most physical talented QBs of all time and Jim Kelly was no slouch when it came to arm talent. I always find it funny that Buffalo managed to nab quarterbacks from each of the greatest classes.

Oklahoma State fired Mike Gundy yesterday afternoon. Dabo next?

Probably low...more of a risk if his contract runs out and another team gives more money/better title like "Assistant HC" or something like that, but from all accounts he really likes it here. Too hard to find a good OL Coach to let them go without the Bills doing everything in their power to keep them. Most great OL coaches stay the entire time the coaching staff is together.

Stelter ever being hired for a tv gig will always be one of life’s greatest mysteries.

Based on the recent McDermott update, it looks like Hairston coming back isn't even a given this year. Here's a question that may not belong in this thread. Is White an upgrade over Douglas at CB2? I don't know myself. My opinion is the defense is certainly no better than last year (worse?), but I don't think CB play is driving the problems we've been having on third downs.

Everyone laughed at this comment, but it seems to me it's pretty simple: First, if you need someone to do a job, it's best to find someone who's already done the job. Jake Browning is an undrafted free agent QB who's barely been able to get off the practice squad. Russell Wilson has won a Super Bowl. Second, I've been amazed, like everyone else, at Wilson's decline, and I don't think he's anyone's quarterback of the future. However, I didn't think Joe Flacco could play in the NFL any longer, either, but he's shown that his experience alone is enough to enable him to make good decisions for his team. Third, remarkably the Giants have been unable to put any talent around their quarterback - in fact, they let a quarterback and a running back go. Wilson is struggling back there in part because he isn't what he was and in part because he has no help. In Cinci he'd have some real talent and a well-conceived offense to direct - he'd have to do less than the Giants need him to do. If I'm the Bengals, I know at least this: You can't win without a QB. If your QB goes down for a couple games, you struggle through with your backup. But if you have a quality QB with a quality team around him, and the QB goes down for three months, it's a wasted season unless you find someone who can do the job. Going forward with an inexperienced guy who never has projected to be an NFL success and who has no experience on the field is not a formula for 2025 success. Bengals have to do something.
