  1. Past hour
  2. Not sure why all the hate for the signing He's probably going to be mostly a mentor and safety 5- 7 on the depth chart.
  3. If that's the case, I'd rather have Poyer than Forrest as he's proven to know McD's system.
  4. hopefully this is to help Cole and Hancock
  5. I also agree here... mentorship will also be important.
  6. Seems similar to the Micah Hyde situation last season. Maybe in certain situations you can play Poyer. Obviously he knows the system and all that. Fret not, Bills fans...for I have found my helmet and uniform (made by Franklin, we all had one) and I am ready to get out there and embarrass myself so youse guys don't have to. "And that's your journeyman's favorite journeyman, blacklabel coming in at safety. And now the snap, Lamar Jackson pitches to Derrick Henry and....wow, Henry was nowhere near the secondary and blacklabel has engaged in a full on sprint for the locker room! Our own Sal C reports hearing 'I want my mama!' as he ran by. And that'll be a career for ol' blacklabel." Sorry guys. I tried.
  7. SF is hard up for DL I see Him and AJ getting traded when our two out on suspension come back
  8. Poyer is on the PS to help the Safeties as an extra coach AND if we suffer injuries. Not a big deal and if that is his role, its a solid move. Bishop can use his experience in this defense
  9. Why not wait 6 weeks? People get injured.
  10. Christian Wilkins just because he seems to be light in the loafers.
  11. I dont disagree... and honestly I dont disagree with their triage here... I think they hoped for the best, Bishop improves, Forrest steps in as a solid back up and we have a functional Secondary... right now it looks like a complete fire drill back there... and while I like Rapp he is more of a heat seeking missile than a true cover saftey in my estimation... one also must account for the fact that his play is devastating to all whom he hits... including his own team mates... so there will be people to go down... I don't mind the insurance on the PS if he is called upon... and I will bet he will be called upon if they keep him there for the season.
  12. Say it with more Feeling @Shaw66 LOL
  13. I was curious on the PS details. At this time I thought I’d share with others who might not know all the details: When the COVID-19 pandemic shook up rosters in 2020, the NFL decided to expand practice squads to 16 players. With an exception: NFL teams can have 17 players on their practice squads, with one caveat: One practice squad member has to be a member of the NFL's International Pathway Program. Of the other 16, 10 must be rookies or second-year players. so, Up to six of the 17 players can have unlimited NFL experience, which is a big development in recent years. Previously, players could have no more than two accrued NFL seasons for eligibility. Every Tuesday, teams can designate four players as protected, so they can't be placed on another team's active roster from that day until kickoff. Two players can be promoted to the active roster on game days. Then they return to the practice squad, unless the team offers a one-year deal. Teams can't activate a player more than twice; after the second time, they must decide whether to promote him to the active roster.
  14. Poyer came to the Bills in his 5th NFL season, after being cut by the team that drafted him, and then not being able to crack the starting lineup of the 0-32 Browns. And then became All Pro around year 6-7. Some things take time.
  15. I have high hopes for Mad Max. I think it's ok to be critical of Beane, with the understanding that expectations are sky high. We're trying to win a SB. He's certainly done a lot of things really well, but his also missed on a few. Even the best GM's have some swings and misses. I still believe that Beane's failures are directly tied to drafting for need, rather than BPA. No one here can convince me otherwise. That being said, I'm hopeful that his second go round goes much better than his 1st, when it comes to (G,CB, DL). 1st time around it was: Cody Ford (2nd) Bust Elam (1st) Bust. Boogie (2nd). Major bust 2nd time around O'Cyrus (2nd round) good pick Max Max (1st round) TBD, but already better than Elam at this point, although very limited time. TJ Sanders (TBD) but early signs are encouraging. Strong preseason/camp. I did not put Benford or Rosseau here, as I am only comparing similar picks when it comes to draft round/position.
  16. The filming of the cuts, including the visit by “the turk” who informs them, will be seen next week. I imagine Hamler and Ciarlo will be focused on along with Shavers getting the good news.
  17. Haven’t seen any significant cuts league wide that made me raise my eyebrows. What ae yours thoughts?
  18. Best thread of the day so far! "I'll post a picture of my bowling ball. What could go wrong?"
  19. Poyer is more washed than the 1991 Super Bowl t-shirt at the bottom of my drawer. The management here is really letting me down in that they cannot draft young difference makers back there and develop them.
  20. Haven’t seen any significant cuts league wide that made me raise my eyebrows. What ae yours thoughts?
  21. Might be the length of time you've been a fan. 15 + Years for all 3 for me.
  22. For sure last season, sadly he landed on Coleman,
  23. I'm not on the 53... day drinking is acceptable.
