I’m still working through this film but between some bizarre play calling and guys just not making plays, it is a tough watch on D sometimes. My favorite so far is an achane run which was an attempt at power. Daquon Jones complete beats his guy across from him off the ball, and blows up the pulling guard who was en route to kick out Rousseau. That left both 50 and Shaq unblocked on the edge and yet they somehow both get beat to the outside when it bounces for a cool 10+ yard gain.

Those that are especially upset about the Kimmel situation - did any of you show similar levels of outrage about this?

He’ll insult you soon enough. He’s getting destroyed by the “libs” and he only has so much patience. Wait until he realizes that televisions turn on to the same channel in which they were turned off, and that stations run promos for morning shows at night.

Seems like it typically takes some time for DL not drafted in the top 5 or so to hit. Look across the field at Kenneth Grant, a guy 90% of us wanted… dude has been getting washed out all over the place for Miami so far this year.

Good thoughts and all so far. I also think it's that we trust Thompson, Bernard, and to an extent Williams. Thompson is a very smart player. He is the guy who took AJ Kleins job in Carolina, to those who didn't know. It was Thomas Davis, Luke Keuchly, and AJ Klein who was replaced by Thompson. Thompson struggled early but learned a lot from Davis, Keuchly, Klein.

Displacing a blocker by fooling him with your eyes is some cagey veteran ***** that I want to see more of on the field. He cannot possibly be a bigger liability in coverage than Dorian Williams. Get that man some more snaps, coach.

I imagine somebody will pop in to tell us all about the one tackle he couldn't quite secure in the backfield, but I thought he was waaay better last night than any of us had any right to expect. He only played half the snaps that Dorian Williams did but had twice as much effect on the game. The fact that he made a bunch of plays that Dorian Williams simply does not make means that there is probably a voice in McDermott's head telling him to give him even more snaps.

Thought he played pretty well last night when given the opportunity. Seems to be at least a decent depth pickup, the hit on the dolphins running back was a thing of beauty.
