  1. Past hour
  2. The locker room and plane ride home were terrible. The locker room was ready to fight and they were damn near gonna start a mutiny
  3. The family that owns BarBill entered into an agreement with Holiday Valley to take over an old restaurant and serve BarBill style wings and 189 Burger style burgers (which is also owned by BarBill). Paywall but I'll post the article down below https://www.bizjournals.com/buffalo/news/2025/09/30/bar-bill-tavern-holiday-valley-ellicottville-depot.html?utm_source=st&utm_medium=en&utm_campaign=ae&utm_content=BU&j=41796048&senddate=2025-09-30&utm_term=ep4&empos=p4 Holiday Valley, Bar-Bill Tavern team up on restaurant venture The Ellicottville Depot is coming back under a new ownership team with lots of experience. The team behind Bar-Bill Tavern is partnering with Holiday Valley Ski Resort to reopen the bar/restaurant at 6094 Route 219 South in Ellicottville. The venture, to be called just the Depot, will be led by brothers John and Harry Crook, who oversee finance and operations, respectively, at the three Bar-Bill locations in East Aurora, Clarence and Rochester that are owned by their parents, Clark and Katie Crook. The Ellicottville Depot closed last spring after 50 years in business and was sold to an affiliate of Holiday Valley Ski Resort in a $1.35 million deal handled by Holiday Valley Realty Co. that closed Sept. 17. The family was invited by friends on the Holiday Valley board of directors to see the space, where they met the former owner and had dinner. “We fell in love with the history of it, the vibe of the place and how quirky it was,” John Crook said. “We fell in love with the idea of continuing the Depot and the ability to bring the brand into a next generation of life.” The Crooks will operate the 1,560-square-foot restaurant, located on one acre across the street from the base of the ski resort under a lease. In a news release, Holiday Valley President and General Manger Dennis Eshbaugh said the resort has had a close relationship with the Depot over the years. “We are excited about the future and believe the Crook family will build on the history and great memories that Vicki and Moose created during their long-tenured stewardship of this very special place," he said. There have been rumors for a few years that Bar-Bill was expanding, but those rumors were quickly dispelled by the Crook family. Instead, the Depot will reopen under the same theme and brand as before. The Ellicottville Depot was operated by the Brown family for 45 years. The closure followed the death last September of Chris “Moose” Brown, who ran the restaurant with his wife, Vicky. It won’t be the first outside venture for the Crook family, who also operate 189 Burger in East Aurora next door to Bar-Bill. John Crook said they’re working to trim down the Ellicottville Depot menu. It will include Bar-Bill style wings and possibly a 189-type burger. “The different brand gives us kind of more freedom to try things we wouldn’t normally do at Bar-Bill,” he said. “We’re going to try to make her menu, but we’re going to make it a little more concise.” An opening date has not yet been determined, as the team is checking out the building and any updates or repairs. While Holiday Valley bought the land and building, the Bar-Bill team bought most of the furnishings and equipment inside from the former owner. “We purchased all of Vicky’s contents,” he said. “That was important to us. We wanted to make sure it didn’t lose the Depot flavor. The interior will feel almost the same.” Plans call for opening before year-end, pending liquor license approvals and the hiring of 15-20 staffers, including former employees who want to come back. “We hear hiring is a struggle – it’s such a small town – but we’re hoping obviously to be open by ski season,” he said.
  4. I take it you don’t have a boat and have never crossed Lake Erie and party at Crystal Beach, Buffalo Yacht Club or the Niagara River at Niagara on the Lake without incident? Oh, no… are you still upset that your own words keep coming back to haunt you?
  5. How long ago was this? Before or after your friend shot up the Tree of Life Synogauge in Pittsburg?
  6. You can delete the bolded, and its still true. Adding the injury and n9 way do i trust him in the most important season. Ring out the rag of anything left in Prater, figure out the rest next year.
  7. He’s under your skin, that’s for sure. Probably part of what gets him off.
  8. No, I used a word commonly used to avoid word filters and mock the whole thing. Sorry not sorry.
  9. Week 5, and it gets a little harder every week. I'm deciding between the Lions and the Colts......leaning Colts at home vs Vegas, but I fear Daniel Jones playing way above his head is possibly coming to an end. Rams over 49ers on Thursday night is also a possibility, but I think anything can happen on Thursday night games. Who ya got??
  10. Ultra competitive until he chokes. He has had padded stats, he has played against some lower tier opponents and crushes it. Then flops against successs. Remember when he was hurt and couldn't play so Tyler Huntley took them to the playoffs? He wasn't hurt.
  11. The DoucheSwede doesn't like being on ignore either. Nice to know that I'm living rent free!
  12. He excelling in the run game? He had problems in pass block all game. He whiffed while pulling on the dumb dumb 4th and 2 play call... that's all I remember. Would love to hear i missed a lot of good! I didnt have any complaints for a backup getting his first start of the year. Not shocked Kromer squeezing outta him whatever he has to offer. Our most important coach after Sean!! Trying to price himself back onto the team for 2026?! Who the hell would wanna miss new stadium opener!!!
  13. One thing I've been thinking with the talk of how they are willing to let teams run, is how a season full of opponents bludgeoning you in the run game might contribute to wear/injuries on defensive players
  14. How are Bills fans going to find a plain white t-shirt with no stains on it ? This may not work out...
  15. And at one point in time Pittsburgh had never done it? Or had been doing it for 1 year? How do you think traditions start? Lol
  16. I was wondering about the surgeon who performed the surgery. Don't top arhletes normally pick one of the leading surgeons in the country do do their surgery- I assume in this case they needed to act swiftly, wonder if it was just whatever surgeon was on call or if they had more options to try to get at least a top local guy (especially since it seems like it was more complicated than a run of the mill ACL)
  17. No, they're not. The Bills have the worst defense in the history of football. I read it right here, so it must be true.
  18. The Mr. Brightside thing started at Knox’s wedding. It was about as organic as it gets. It was literally driven by the players as opposed to the game presentation staff trying to shove it down your throats (like when they try to “SHAKE THE STTAAAADDDDDIIIUUUUUM”) at the start of the 4th.
  19. The Bills aren't playing complimentary football now. The defense knows it. They've owned it.
  20. He never called plays in SF, even in that one year. There were a few years in the NFL where everyone clamored to hire anyone with a little gel in their hair who once got a cup of coffee for Shanahan or McVey. Two of those guys, McDaniel and Zac Taylor, are now in bad situations where they are in over their heads. Bobby Slowik almost followed in their path. Then Slowik got canned in Houston, because the league got wise about these young "offensive geniuses.".But did you know that Slowik is currently the "Passing Game Coordinator" in Miami? How about the fact that Ken Dorsey is the "Passing Game Specialist" in Dallas? The list goes on. These guys never leave the game, no matter how poorly they do. And if they do flame out, they just go back to college. Rob Ryan, of all people, is the assistant head coach for defense at USC.
