We don't seem to run a put together series We will run one series of nothing but low risk runs, the next no runs with only low risk low potential runs, the next one run and two deep shots. Nothing seems to be working to set up the game plan for opportunistic plays, designed exploitation of weak points, etc. We found things that should have worked against the dolphins, for example. That ball to Coleman kn the first and he kept beating his man through the entire game when going to the left.. Then we never went back to it.

I mean, McDermott himself was calling out Groot after the game. Should we all tell him to chill? It was tough to watch in the moment, and the pass rush and 3rd down defense did stink, but it’s hard to really argue with holding that offense to 21 points and low total yardage with 4 three-and-outs and a turnover. I mean, if the Bills D can do that consistently, we’ll beat most teams with the offense we have.

Kinda crazy how we played such a conservative offense yet we scored 31 and left probably at least 7 more on the field. They were a couple bad play calls from busting that game wide open in the first half. They'll open things up when it’s time.

Agreed. Watching the game at the time I was more exasperated with the defense than offense. On replay, it flipped.

Like you said. I didn't notice him live either, but if you look at all-22 you see that he had lot of good plays in both run defense and pass rush. I started doing that this year for the first time and it gave me completely new perspective.

Hard to say, week 1-2 are almost extended pre-season and Thursday games are funky. So I think the Bills will have to really get more games in to see what any trade deadline needs are. I think Safety remains a big concern but seems like the tandem has settled down after that terrible start. Once again not sure what’s happening on a more granular level there. Defensively in general Mad Max and the PED twins come back so there’s reinforcements coming. I think offensively WR could be an issue if Keon isn’t a bit more consistent but I can’t see any major moves there.

Has anyone else noticed the bills have run their tush push 0 times this year? Seems McDermott doesn’t want to be a hypocrite…

The franchise tag kind of muddies the 2020 contract. Free agency started in March, Henry signed tag in April and it was 2020, beginning of pandemic. Henry had a strange time in Tennessee, was a back up for first two years. Then had two really good years, maybe he was a victim of the NFL not valuing RBs. During his second contract, he was injured one season and Tennessee was bad. I’m sure all that factored in. I’ll be glad when he retires.
