This was obviously not a good year for Alabama. That said, their schedule was brutal, and they had to play in a usesless, meaningless conference championship game. They were the only team to beat Georgia and then were forced to play them again. Otoh, Notre Dame played all of two good teams and lost to both of them. The rest of their schedule consisted of largely hand picked patsies. They would be just another team in the SEC. If they want to be taken seriously they should join the Big Ten. At some point, hopefully the SEC and Big Ten will quit the NCAA and form their own leagie.

People are not overly pessimistic. We want a championship. Nothing wrong with that. We haven't played in the Super Bowl since after the 1993 season. That is over a generation ago. We are an intense rabid fan base. Most NFL teams, in fact most sports franchises have that kind of fan base. We live and die each week with our team's results. The coaching has been good, but not great in the McDermott era. The roster has been good in certain areas, great at QB, and lacking in others. Two that really come to mind is at WR and DE. We are seriously lacking playmakers at WR, and our pass rush is terrible. And this has gone on for several years now. And is a serious fail on our GM. There is nothing wrong with fans critiquing the team. That's what's fun about being a fan. We go through the misery of the losses, and don't get paid to do it. But most of us get tremendous joy out of the big wins. The wins this year over Baltimore, Carolina, Tampa Pittsburgh and especially KC and Cinci were awesome. (The Cinci game was easily top 5 in entertainment value in the league this year) I think this era has been very good and fun to be a part of, because of #17 and #4. But we need to at least get to the Super Bowl to call any era amazing.

Hoping Bernard is sitting out the rest of the season. I really like our LB plays since he was gone

After watching a replay of Sunday’s win over the Bengals, I don’t trust Coleman either. His rounded, lackadaisical attempt at a deeper crossing route almost cost us an interception. His quick slant is the only route I would throw to him. Even his go route isn’t much, & he shows minimal desire to fight for the ball. He really plays like he doesn’t give a crap way too often. I was hoping he good WR for us, but I will be surprised if he ever does.

I have always been very clear: 1. Missing the playoffs barring a major Josh Allen injury; 2. Losing a playoff game to a clearly inferior Quarterback..... that might well get tested this offseason given likely makeup of the playoff field; 3. Any repeat of a 13 seconds level coaching blunder. I have added a 4th to it this season which is: 4. Firing Brandon Beane. I don't think Pegula will but depending on how our season ends I would consider it. And at that point I think you clean house. Bringing in another GM to work with McD when they are likely misaligned is a pretty sure fire way to waste another 2 or 3 seasons before inevitably the coach would be fired anyway. If you fire Beane I don't see an argument for retaining McDermott.
