Jeff Wright's Mullet

Recommended Posts

A mullet reset ... excellent! I believe opposing OL became mesmerized by the 'do and allowed Wright to penetrate the backfield. Let us not forget, he also had a sweet porrnstache to go along with that mullet! His mullet is second only to Fred Smerlas' and Jim Ritcher's back hair in Buffalo Bills folklore.

I knew Jeff Wright. I was the DJ at Club Diamond Dust (now Rick's Tally-Ho)on Genesee & Transit from '91-93 and he would frequent the place after road games. He had a thing for this dancer named Cheri. Anyways, I met him and he seemed like a cool guy. I remember asking him how bad did it hurt when he dislocated his kneecap? He said it went numb after a couple of minutes. Must have been the shot they gave him on the field. We could sure use him now next to Stroud.

the mullet was actually the anchor of that d-line

Didn't the Bills have a couple of LBers with the mullett and pornostache thing happening too... i think one was Ray Bentley and did Conlan sport that look also?

Also Mike Hamby (the illustrator of the Darby the Dinosaur series).

Hamby

And, of course, Ray Bentley himself...

My two regrets as a Bills fan:

#1- didn't get to see the great teams of the 1960's in action

#2- the greatest period of Bills football, after the merger, came during one the worst eras of sports fashion in sport history.. Jeff Wright embodied it... I just picture him with the cheesy mustache, incredible mullet, and a Bills starter jersey, and a pair of those hideous zubas....

INDEED! the very rare jerri curl mullet

man, that team really was all-80s

Don't forget about Kelly's Pat Riley comeover, Andre's Kid and Play high top, or Jamie Mueller's Legion of Doom trim.

When I first went to college, all of my friends just assumed everyone in Buffalo just wore Zubaz and rocked mullets. Complete stereotype. Only 51% do.

Very true. Here's a link that details Garner's life after football. Pretty sad.

Wow, just read the article. That is very sad. He's correct when he mentioned something to the effect that everyone loves you when your on top but when things are going bad most folks are not real good friends. I'm rooting for this guy. Whether you like him or not he's admitted his problems are self made, however he's paid a hell of a price and one I can relate to working the job I do. Good luck Hal!

Neitehr show the back mullet. He had one though.

Mitch Ferotte - the super mullet!

EDIT: I love Mitch even more after reading this...

He apparently once threatened NFL quarterback Joe Theismann with bodily harm for getting on his bike. It is unclear if this was before or after Theismann's career-ending injury by the hands of Lawrence Taylor.
