Yup, I didn't see a whole lot today that screamed Maye isn't anything more than an avg QB. I wasnt impressed at all, he actually folded late in the game when they needed him most.

That's how he's been basically the whole yr

Wait, so one player returns for the Patriots, and all of a sudden the Bills won’t be able to run AND Allen will have to be Superman?!

You do realize the Bills were without their BEST two defenders in Ed Oliver and Christian Benford. Bernard was also out at linebacker today. The Bills D has been decimated all season.

I’ll absolutely look forward to the rubber match if we can have our guys back too.  Maybe Maye will have to be Superman?  We can see how that goes.

Pats were missing multiple players but Williams is the reason Cook didn’t run wild the last time and why the Pats were the top ranked run D we are also down z2 starting LB and Davis went down too

Ha ha wow!

He is not a scrub..I will leave it as that. I will let the ridiculous continue to be.

Its an honest question, and some reason you are deflecting now.

You initially reacted all shocked that someone compared Maye to Herbert?  The reacted to me when I asked if you thought he was better.

Now, you are deflecting.  Honest question, I dont even know where you rank him amongst his peers.

I love a rematch hopefully for the right to go to the SB first of many rubber matches between the two for years to come hopefully.

Actually that’s what everyone says about the Bills.. look it up if Cook has a sub par game the bills have lost.. the same isn’t true for Allen THIS year.. does that mean Allen is awful? No just that the Bulls O needs cook to win this year.

Appreciate the reply. Can I ask why the about face? Why suddenly say "Allen and the Bills are leaning heavily on Cook" now rather than saying that whilst Josh was legitimately having down periods earlier in the season, and getting criticism for it?

"He will only get better" - your quote on Maye.

How is this known?  Your opinion, fair.

I think Maye is a solid tier 2 type - like a Dak, Kirk Cousins, CJ Stroud, etc.  IMO, he is super close to his ceiling.

I also don't get the comparisons of Maye to Josh at this stage - bc he is tall?  Josh was a wild massive bull/stallion with a bazooka arm and 'accuracy issues' who looked to bowl people over (when he wasn't hurdling them).  Maye throws a good deep ball and is mostly accurate and scrambles straight ahead.  He doesn't match Josh for size, strength (arm and overall), athleticism, attitude or overall 'superman' traits.  And some of those he will never have.  I really don't look at him and think that Josh is what he will become.  I don't see any 'superman' or 'alien' in him.

I think Stroud more than anyone when I think of Maye - people losing their minds Stroud's first year then everything coming back to earth once teams figure him out

For ME I put him top of his draft class right now followed by Caleb and Daniel’s .. I’m interested see how Maye handles the rest of the year simply because this is the most games he has ever played in a season now.

Then why bring it up then?

And nobody said it wasn't possible. I know you are hoping it's very possible especially if the Bills cant win a SB soon. And Ahh does Mac Jones have the same abilities Drake Maye has? Like what are we doing here...or cuz they worn the same uniform that means they will suffer the same fate?

Ha ha

I brought it up because you said something like ‘obviously maye will only get better’ which is not obvious. Nfl careers often don’t go that way.  Really isn’t rocket science here

He may get even better he may not. I’m not predicting he will flame out after year 2 but year 2 could possibly be his peak output you just never know.  Happens more than you seem to think and every fanbase says all the same things lol you just put us through this with Mac jones…dolphins just put us through something similar with the wizard McDaniel supposedly unlocking tua’s potential.

Davis came back in, if you had watched the game.

Again, both teams missing players.  Buffalo missing CB1, best DT, their MLB, and a situational player in Hoecht.

Could it just be that teams are figuring out how to run on NE?  Possible, or maybe Williams is the missing cog.  We shall see when NE plays next week.

It’s Maye’s second year

And without them Maye had a 62 rating and 155 yards passing. Whew. You'd expect more from an MVP. Especially in the 4th quarter when it was obvious we would not be stopped

Refs are always bad.. and I didn’t say that but god a lot are..  sorry if you hate the fact the team wins only when Cook has a good game a team stops Cook the Bills have lost look it up

He’s been the beneficiary of the Pats trouncing most of their schedule.

He hasn’t had to play from behind and take over a game to win much.

he hasn’t had to do it (and that’s okay) but that’s the next step he needs to take.

Vrabel had Tannehill looking really good when their offense was on schedule.

I said went down.. he was playing injured said so after the game..  and umm ya ok.. just the simple fact 2 big guys go down on the line and teams start to run but they just figures it out come on man! Williams isn’t back next week he comes back for the Jets.. hopefully Campbell comes back too..

I think top of draft class, is fair, this year.

I agree with him being young and learning, I just dont think he has the upside of either Daniels or Caleb.  Also I think he is close to his ceiling.  But that's just my opinion.

Doesn't take anything away or discount his play.  Hes having a very very good year.  The question is can he eventually put the team on his back and carry them (this yr or future)?  My take is no.
