1) it is not the worst field in the NFL

2) What do you mean Billsy? You mean billsy in terms of building a new stadium with natural turf? Or Billsy like getting to the playoffs every year?

or maybe you are just making stuff up for the sake of complaining

1. Our turf is not good for snow removal because of the rubber pellets. Do you not remember the rubber pellet debacle?

2. Billsy like why put pellets in a field that needs to be cleared, it should be heated and easily cleared if need be.

We are getting a new stadium next year. The current one is old and outdated.

I generally don't like to start topics, but I do not understand why there are not teams of stadium personnel with shovels and/or snowplows to clear the field during stoppages and especially at at halftime?

Is there a reason? Is there a good reason?

Go Bills

Because the Buffalo Bills don’t need the field cleared, maybe our sissy opponents do, but not our guys!

GO BILLS!!!

I played corner through college and while if you're able to get a good jam there might be a slight advantage

The entire game is geared towards the offense in the snow... Even last year James Cook broke off like a 70-year touchdown in the snow where he was gliding and everybody else was in quicksand because he is in control

Some defensive backs could thrive in that but the defensive line is absolutely at a massive disadvantage and controlling the trenches eventually somebody will get open

I wouldn't say i had "success" either - just how i felt more comfortable playing.  I bit on a double move and as i turned to see my safety help he was on the ground.  It might have been the first play of the game :)

It was a plot to make the Bengals slip more when they were playing here ad it worked !!!

1. Pellets serve a purpose. Every single artificial turf field in the NFL has them Every single one. Maybe ask ChatGPT why all NFL artificial turf fields have pellets?

2. See number one above. Since every single NFL turf field has pellets, how can it be Billsy?

Really? The stadium is old and outdated? Must be why they are building a new one. SOOO Billsy!

Good god, man, educate yourself before you post this dreck.

The turf is not old and outdated. It is the same as every other turf field in the NFL. They all have the same benefits and drawbacks and they must all be filled with rubber pellets to provide a softer surface to play on.

What other team clears the entire field during timeouts and half time? None of them. They all do the exact same thing. Do you think Buffalo is the only field that gets snow in the NFL?

OMG,  the Cherokee hair tampons commercial 🤣🤣🤣

I vote Ford Field for worst in the league

2x we play there we lose a key player, each time

Tre White

Von Miller

EFF Ford Field 🤬🤬🤬

Thankfully they fixed it last year.

Jets/Giants surface was statistically worse and the worst. The stats on ACL injuries were bonkers at the rate they happened there compared to everywhere else.

I believe they may* have finally fixed that, but am less confident than I am about Detroits!

Interesting fact: I just learned that we wont be having any more snow-turf games at the new stadium. It has "snow melt technology" built into the field.

I think that's a fancy way of saying the grass is heated.

A lot of good, and I'm sure correct, answers here regarding the turf and what happens when we try to remove snow.

However, one aspect I havent seen mentioned is cleats. The players have different cleats for playing in snow than on a clear field. If you are clearing snow, but then it is also accumulating over the quarter/half, then the players will have the wrong cleats on for part of the time no matter which way you go.

I think it's easier for them to say "ok, we're playing in a a couple inches of snow so wear those cleats" and stay consistent, then having to go back and forth on a clear field.

But I just made this up so who knows.

I would say the majority of players don't want to change shoes during a game, id imagine quite a few guys have their shoes taped on too.

Steelers, and. yes, they pushed a lot of rubber pellets off of the field.

I was at that game. Went to the bathroom at halftime and expected it to be mid 3rd quarter when I got back… Instead I came back to tractors and rubber chunks all over the place haha.

They credit Adolf Dassler with giving the German team a win in the 1954 FIFA World Cup, as he had provided them with soccer shoes with removable cleats, that could be swapped out for various field conditions.  I'm not sure what they're using nowadays, what with synthetic turfs, and the wide range of molded or replaceable cleats.

Yeah, I believe they can change the screw-in cleats, but even that would be a major undertaking while youre in the middle of a game.

Perfect opportunity to get some of those overpaid 'hangers on' to earn their salaries.  Not the players, the execs from the organization.
