So who is currently filling this role? They need to take a hard look at his efforts.

Or is Beane just ignoring him and doing whatever he wants, to hell with the cap?

Overdorf still does the contracts, and his boys do the spreadsheets.

Ultimately all decisions are Brandon Beane's.

Bad contracts. Signing C players to B contracts and B players to A contracts.

Bernard, Benford, Oliver, Knox, Samuel, Shakir, Rousseau, Milano and Epenesa are all overpaid for their production or lack there of.

I don't think Epenesa is overpaid. But I agree with the rest, especially the idea that he signs C players to B contracts. That is very true. Even just giving out way too many B contracts even if they are B players, because there is no more room for A contracts on the team.

Well said by both of you. That’s kind of the issue. It isn’t that these guys aren’t decent to even good NFL players. You just can’t spend that high on the middle of your roster. The Bills lack stars so they spent on the middle. They would have been better off letting some of the middle of the roster walk and keeping flexibility to add to the top.

Benford is the only one that was worth signing at his contract.

The others are grossly overpaid.

I want Knox here but not at his salary.

I want Oliver but not at his salary - remember he was awesome before he got hurt, twice. And that’s been the story of his career.

Everyone else is a replaceable jag.

The Oliver and Hoecht injuries are proving to be a disaster for this team.  We don’t have enough horses.

And I think the team is playing like they know it.

They look like they are “hoping to win” instead of “knowing they will win.”

Benford is paid like a top 15 cornerback.

His production doesn’t match the contract.

He’s a 6th round C player that played his way to a B, but is getting paid like an A.

He’s a zone system cornerback. He’s not locking anyone down in man coverage. He’s not following the other teams top WR around the field. He’s not a top tier athlete. He’s an average to slightly above average player.

In my opinion, I feel they can find CB’s that have his production for a lot cheaper. Same could be said for the other guys I listed.

Maybe Benford... maybe... he is not playing lights out either.

Benford has been among the worst CB's in the NFL this year.............Beane extending him after those two concussions was malpractice so absolutely NOT worth it at signing.

They needed to let that play out.

As they should have with all 4, to be honest.

Rousseau will likely be the only one to play out his deal and provide value throughout.

The way Benford is playing Dorian Strong might have started to take snaps from HIM by the end of this season if not for the career threatening neck injury.

Oh, the lights are out.   He's just a husk of what he was pre-extension.
