machine gun kelly Posted Tuesday at 08:19 PM Posted Tuesday at 08:19 PM The eyes don’t lie. Palmer, Davis, Shavers, and Shakir with Knox until Kinkaid is ready makes sense. Screw Coleman for ever. He was a huge bust and an attitude. Cook and swap in Hawes at times. 1 1 Quote

Happy for Shavers but let’s not get ahead of ourselves. Kelvin Benjamin was the worst starting WR I have ever seen and I saw the strike season. Robert Foster should have started in his place even if he just stood motionless at the line of scrimmage. Throwing to Benjamin led to a lower passer rating than spiking the ball. So the standard here is should we start Shavers over the pool of unexciting receivers on the roster now, but the question then was do we really need to play eleven players every down and if so, should one of them be Robert Foster rather than Benjamin? 2 Quote

Need to find a spot for Gabe on the roster. Is Beane ballsy enough to cut Keon for him? Probably not. No need to cut. Just don’t dress Keon. Simple enough. He's not fast, though I suppose it's not a terrible time for a bigger-bodied guy (6'4", 211 lbs). Keon's a bit quicker but neither of these guys runs like a deer... Shavers Keon 40 yards 4.59 4.61 10 yards 1.63 1.54 Thing is: Shavers has football speed and a brain, Keon does not. Quote
Kelly to Allen Posted Tuesday at 11:56 PM Author Posted Tuesday at 11:56 PM Alvin Harper is another good comp. Probably more realistic Quote
Andy1 Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago Great interview of Shavers. So easy to root for. Him and Josh have the same prove them wrong mentality. He also talks about his friendship with Keon. 1 1 Quote

But I want to be wrong. I root for him and hope he becomes a regular contributor to the Bills offense. Quote

frostbitmic Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago During the preseason you could see the love his teammates have for him, excitedly surrounding him after a TD etc ... They also mentioned how hard he worked in the off season. If teams decide they'd better cover him, then that will take a defender off of somebody else. Shavers has earned another shot tonight after his game against the Bucs. By being late for team meetings, and from what I've heard it wasn't his first, and being mostly ineffective on the field, sitting Coleman again tonight might get his head back in the game... Might being the keyword. GO BILLS Quote
Brianmoorman4jesus Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago This guy is like a Special teams #5 WR lol. What are we doing here? That was really nice catch and hopefully it turns into consistent performances but this is nuts. The guy is probably the 5th or 6th best WR on this team. I don’t really think it’s warranting HOF player comparisons. Unless the comparison is, they both play football. I hope I’m wrong and the guy turns into Eric Moulds. I’m just assuming if he was that type of player, a borderline zero like Colman wouldn’t have been playing 70% of the snaps. Quote

I’m just assuming if he was that type of player, a borderline zero like Colman wouldn’t have been playing 70% of the snaps. It's extremely common for top picks to prove they can't play. It's the opposite with lower picks Shavers took the most snaps at the x wr position Sunday. He's Wr1/ Target#1 right now until Kincaid is back imo It more or less happened with Kyle Williams 5th and mccargo 1st Andre Reed 4th and Chris Burkett 2nd JJ stokes 1st & Terrell Owens 3rd Rod Smith was undrafted, Marcus Nash was a 1st Rd pick for Denver in the late 90s Tom Brady 6th, Bledsoe 1st Elam & Benford, Stevie Johnson etc It's extremely common If he was still viewed as wr 5, he wouldn't be listed as a starter on ourlads, featured by the bills organization this week by Chris Brown, or leading the team in snaps last week. In other words he beat out Coleman. For an organization in 1 year to move on from their top pick for an undrafted guy says something. It says a lot about Coleman but it also says a ton about Shavers... But it's obviously still soon and maybe it's just a flash or whatever. My eyes tell me he's a special talent and he reminded me of John Stallworth. Obviously I could end up looking silly lol Imo if he was just a guy, he would be getting less snaps, and Gabe / Palmer would be the main guys. The traits are definitely there. During the preseason and in camp I thought he was the best wr on the team but I didn't say anything. After Sunday I'm starting to think I'm right... But you're correct it's hyperbolic and premature right now and more just a fun comparison I'm very interested to see what happens tonight with more pressure and against some good corners. If he lights it up tonight all bets are off imo. If he's 1 on 1 with Lassiter who runs 4.65, I think they're going to go deep more than once on him with Shavers. I also don't think it's a coincidence that basically all the wide receivers changed and then the passing game exploded... Shavers leading in snaps, Palmer back, Gabe & some Hardman Edited 28 minutes ago by Kelly to Allen Quote
