Dawkins is just another player, he doesn’t run this team, he doesn’t cut or trade anyone. In the interview that's up on the Bills site, Dawkins did not say "it's his last chance". He said "let's just say that this is the last time, and move on" (in context pretty clear "last time" means "last time you're late to a meeting" Edited 2 hours ago by Beck Water Quote

IMO there was no reason to go public... words said to Coleman in private by a "respected team leader" should suffice. Dion has 4 false starts and 2 holding penalties and is playing at a lower level than last year but I guess when you get the keys to the city, you can say what you want when you want, regardless of your own performance. Dawkins has been a solid player and a leader on this team for years. Maybe this is the way to get through the Coleman since initially discussions have fallen on deaf ears. I realize Macy’s had a sale on shorts and flip flops now that weather has turned, but the fans have been sick of his bull#### for a while and now his teammates are too. Quote

You see... the Macy's comments are a dead giveaway. Regardless, I disagree with you but whatever. As I said, lots of people are fed up with Coleman so they'll gladly side with Dawkins, rightly or wrongly. Quote

Using past comments and behavior to justify why a person acts a certain way? If you make ridiculous comments in your introductory presser and don’t back it up on the field, it is going to be brought up. Edited 2 hours ago by uticaclub 1 Quote

But they havent sufficed. They've all been coaching him up in private for over a year, and he's still showing up late. You continue to ignore the support and continue to disrespect the entire team, then you lose the grace of keeping things private. Dion has earned the right to make mistakes. No one wants mistakes, but he shows up and works hard and plays hard. Beyond that, mistakes happen, and can be begrudgingly absorbed and accepted when the player is actually trying and working. Any mistakes in Dion's performance can be overlooked considering he did the work to make himself available to ACTUALLY PERFORM, and not get benched for bad decisions my 7 year old doesnt even make. 2 Quote

And then take the mic and rip HIM for making a mistake! Quote

There is talent, and there is drive and effort. Very very few (and rare) athletes can get by talent without the other side. Keon is far, far from talented enough to skip on effort. Someone will and can beat you (so perceived you make mistakes) on the field, but you cannot be beat on your effort (that's what coaches are looking for). 1 Quote

I understand the viewpoint that you're articulating.. a viewpoint shared by others. I just believe that all criticism of teammates be done in private and not publicly... it's a part of my belief system. 1 Quote
SoonerBillsFan Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago When the players speak out, you have screwed the pooch. He isnt going to be on this roster soon if he doesnt pull his head out. Honestly I hope he goes, bad pick and the offense was better last week without him out there 1 Quote
SectionC3 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago The question I have now is whether he boards the plane to Houston. Personally, I’d leave him home. McD did it to Ray Ray years ago. Keon needs it too. For Dawkins to say anything it shows all they have done behind the scenes isnt working. This is THE last step for this guy Quote

You "praise in public, punish in private" as the old leadership saying goes. And that is exactly what McD and some players have been doing for over a year. But it's possible for a team member to slack their way out of that. This Bills team in general are not the types to pop off out of turn. The fact Dion said anything should show exactly where Keon stands, not be an indictment on Dion's leadership. Go Bills! 2 3 Quote

Dawkins is a pro bowl veteran and the best player on possibly the best offensive line in the league. A couple Offside penalties do not negate that, or the respect he commands within the locker room. He’s also like the most positive guy out there, so if he’s saying you need to get your act together, then probably Coleman should listen. 1 Quote

Jumping Offside in an adrenaline filled football game is different than missing and being late for team meetings Especially when you’re a second year player who has been nothing but a disappointment compared to a respected 9 year vet who doesn’t miss team meetings (and not dancing on the sidelines on a game where he’s benched for missing team meetings ) Quote
