Kelly to Allen Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago (edited) 1 hour ago, BADOLBILZ said: Yeah the 1989 Bills were just a 2nd year contender and had a roster full of young difference makers. Confidence was very low in the coaching staff but they were so talented that the objective of the offseason after 1989 was addition by subtraction(Fred Smerlas in particular). This certainly ain't that. 1994 was the clear end of that run of dominance but it wasn't the end for the Bills SB chances........they had just reached the point where they had to cross their fingers for health and win with just a capable roster and a winning culture instead of a great roster like they had from 88'-92' or so. That's where the Bills are now. John Butler did a decent job re-tooling the personnel(despite some blind spots in talent evaluation) in the mid-90's and the 1999 team really should have won the SB that year. Most stifling, talented defense the Bills have had since the merger. This roster and the youth of it's key players is in line with 89 You gotta remember, Kelly and a few other guys already would've had a similar 5 year run like this group if Kelly arrived in 83.... Allen, cook, Shakir, Kincaid, palmer, Gabe, Brown, Torrence, Rousseau, Oliver, tj Sanders, Walker, Williams, hairston, benford, Bishop, Hancock , Landon Jackson etc All of them are in line with 89.... Kelly was also a much older 29 in 1989 because he had completele shoulder reconstruction surgery in 83 if I'm not mistaken. Edited 4 hours ago by Kelly to Allen 1 Quote

I guess maybe they were waiting for a player that could replace his role blocking, maybe they felt Shavers wasn't there. Now that Gabe Davis is available, if he's healthy he can at least perform Coleman's blocking assignments just as well. 1 Quote

Success Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago I'm sad about Coleman, excited to see Gabe & Hardman, nervous that it's too much change too fast, angry that we even got to this point, and happy that Allen is still our QB. So - sad, excited, nervous, angry & happy. The life of a Bills fan, eh? How about it? 1 Quote
