Its wayyyyy to young a team in prime spots to be the 94 team.

Maybe more the 89 team without the locker room issue...that team had sky high expectations and was also banged up...

Ironically the 89 team had to beat the jets to get in the playoffs and they won like 30-3 or something. They finished 9-7

Strangely enough that Cleveland playoff game if I remember correctly is what give birth to the no huddle. The Kelly bills before that were extremely conservative

I'm not simply comparing rosters.

But that '89 team, by a wide margin, had the best roster in the AFC.   On paper, they had no real weaknesses and a great deal of excellent young depth.

The 1994 roster had fallen back toward the pack.  This 2025 Bills team has some gaping holes like that 1994 unit.

I'm really talking about how they are performing after a 6 year run as a contender from 1988-1993 versus the 2019-2024 6 year playoff run of this group.

The 1995 Bills needed and got a pretty big overhaul on defense plus the addition of Ruben Brown(who played great as a rookie).

Nobody should be getting their hopes up about Gabe Davis. I get that the WR room is dire and that leads to fans desperately clinging to any possible answer, and a familar face is an easy thing to cling to. Realistically though Gabe was ideally a WR3 at best the last time he was here and I think he's still making his way back to even that level... The PCL injury has taken a concerningly long time to rehab, he developed blood clots after his surgery which put him on blood thinners for several months, and he was recently held out of practice for knee soreness. I wouldn't assume he is ready to jump full bore into an NFL game at this point.

Any team could sign him for free to their active roster right now. Pittsburgh who is desperate for another WR worked him out a few months ago and never circled back. That should tell you how bad the medicals were. This is not just a case of the Bills coaches playing favorites. I expect him to get called up at some point, maybe as early as next week, but I'm keeping my expectations very low.

My main concern is that no one at One Bills Drive seems to understand how bad that Miami loss was. It is business as usual this week. Someone should have been fired (Joe Brady), and there should be public anger from coaches and players. Josh moped after the game. That's not what anyone wants to see. Tom Brady or Aaron Rodgers would have spit fire from the podium. It was not just a loss. It was a team that got exposed and embarrassed, and they don't seem to care about it.

If they lose this week, the wheels will come off.

I'm not sure if you guys are right. I'm not sensing the same thing.

I'm not saying that they're gonna play well but I'm not sensing that the team is treating this like just another week.

Realistically Pegula isn't gonna fire McBeane because of 1) the goodwill they've accumulated for turning the team into a perennial contender 2) the opening of the new stadium.

The most we can hope for is a change in the OC and DC... that we can Buddy Ryan our way into a Super Bowl win with McDermott playing the part of a meek-mannered Ditka.

I know you’re probably right, but it’s just frustration building.

I think we can all see how much better Reid and Sirianni are in the clutch than McDermott.

And I think we all see that Brane has completely failed to give Josh receiving weapons which feels like asking Thor to use a miniature hammer.

1) With an ascending program, Diggs might not see a reason to become a malcontent.

2) I believe Vrabel will be able to handle Diggs... he's already gotten past the pink substance video distraction.

3) Diggs is smart enough to know he's in the final stages of his career and will behave in order to maximize his earnings.

IMO the only logical explanation is that Brady is operating within the restrictions demanded of the offense by McD.  I'm a big college football fan and that LSU passing attack was aggressive and stretched the field.

I'm not saying McDermott is not throttling down the offense but Burrows, Justin Jefferson and Ja'Marr Chase are a MUCH more logical explanation.

I've kept saying it's Bills OC Joe Brady and so many keep saying it's the lousy Buffalo receivers. A bit of both?

If Joe Brady can get his stuff together this could be a very potent offense, run game #1, QB #1 and it just needs some actual good pass game coaching.

I was hoping the bye week self-scouting would result in a more creative offense but I haven't seen it so I'm not holding my breath on Brady getting it together.

Dont cut off your nose in spite of your face.  One injury and Coleman will be back in the same role.  Shrink his utilization. Let him concentrate on a handful of packages and concepts.  I would give him the Kincaid routes and usage while he is out immediately.

Agreed. I understand that lots of pitchforks are still out for Coleman but it's ridiculously early to condemn him for life.

The Bills put way too much on his plate or as they say, put him in a position to fail. I feel a bit sorry for the young man.

Coming out and rushing for 200+ vs the Panthers and then Josh carving up KC probably didn't help this cause.

The Dolphins game felt like a true wake up call...wishful thinking probably, but contrary to what the vocal minority says McD has shown a willingness to embrace change and demand a higher standard when we've gotten off track in the past.

Bills are Dead last on 1st downs when it comes to first down passer rating.

Hows that even possible when Josh Allen is your quarterback

I don't believe that. Unless I'm mistaken I'm pretty sure the Bills haven't thrown on 1st down this year.

The answer if we lose this game is.... nothing happens. It would take another month of poor play for any kind of fall out IMO.

Not sure I agree. As others in this topic have pointed out, after the Houston game would be a logical time to make coaching changes because they'd have a long week to prepare for the next game.

And I'll repeat something I've pointed out a few times now... Ken Dorsey was fired on November 14, 2023. Today is the 15th so there is precedent.

Honestly, it really wouldn't shock me to see Hardman called up before Gabe. Hardman should still be in decent shape from being in the Packers TC. Plus he adds ST value as a return guy. I can see them activate him for that alone, then work him in on a few Go routes on offense.

We 100% need a PR this week who is not Shakir, given his injury status, be it Hardman or Codrington with Hardman much more able to be a WR4 compared to Codrington being a CB4.

AI Overview

The Serenity Prayer is a popular prayer asking for the serenity to accept things one cannot change, the courage to change the things one can, and the wisdom to know the difference. It is widely associated with Reinhold Niebuhr, a Lutheran theologian, and has been adopted by groups like Alcoholics Anonymous as a core part of their program. The main message is to focus on what is within one's control while accepting what is not, promoting inner peace and strength

We don’t even play the better guys on game day. It’s the dumbest ***** imaginable. Samuel is the most accomplished WR on the roster. The guy literally never plays.

He has six total targets this year. Six. Kincaid is playing roughly a third of the snaps. Meanwhile, the receiver getting the most playing time is Coleman.

They have no idea how to utilize offensive players. That's why I didn't care about them not trading for Waddle. Who cares? They could get into a time machine and bring back 1998 Randy Moss, and he wouldn't do dick in this system.

If we look putrid on offense again this week - especially from a scheming players open /  pass plays perspective (being much less predictable) - do you think McD pulls a Dorsey? I would guess not unfortunately but curious if anyone else thinks a change is possible.

I think if anything it would be after the Houston game. (But I still don't think so)

Because remember it's a short week after the bucs game . Hard to switch coordinators then.

With us on a short week playing on Thursday next week that leaves zero percent chance they make a move after this game no matter how bad the offense looks.

Now if we look really bad this week and Thursday against Houston, then I think the move could happen then with the mini bye.

Problem is, is there anyone on staff that can take over and improve things? Kromer hasn't called plays in about a decade and Ronald Curry has never been an OC. Those two IMO would be the favorites on staff for "next up".

Honestly IF it happened McD would have to be a complete fool to repeat young internal hire and at least not try for Dabol.
