I would be wary of any defensive player that gets cut by the Bengals.

If the alternative is playing Jordan Phillips 33% or more..........yeah.   But replacing Ed Oliver with guys like Pennel or Harrison Phillips is meh.   They are guys who could be out of the rotation come playoff time.   Calais Campbell is the ideal fit.  Still a very impactful player.   I just wonder if he has had the Bills on a list he won't play for because he's been that guy for years.   Always available,  really productive and priced right but never ends up here.

Davis is a 6'7" 325lb former second round pick of the Dolphins in 2020. I believe he signed with Indy in the off-season. Really struggled with the Dolphins.

The thought process behind Phillips elevation being that we have Larry Ogunjobi and literally nothing else behind him at 3T and we've used up all 3 of Phillips's call ups.

 

We also have nothing behind Deone Walker at 1T. But Daquan Jones should hopefully be back this week or next. In the meantime, we have 1 call up left for Phil Mathis if Jones isn't ready this week.

 

Definitely the biggest name on this list is Raekwon Davis. A former 2nd Round Pick from 2020 and a PFWA All Rookie team selection. Signed a 2 year, 14m deal with Indianapolis in 2024. It didn't work out, as he wasn't a good scheme fit. So if we play to his strengths, he should be better than what he looked like in Indy:

Jones will not make it the whole year and Phillips might not either.

Take two and Jones sounds like what I would wish for.

 But Maybe not what McD will use correctly either
