Ramza86 Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Idk what the hell is going on with some of these playcalls Shakir was great doing the Beasley role. Need more of that. Kincaid has been fine this year. Keep it up. WHY HAVE WE STOPPED DUMPING IT TO COOK? That needs to come back ASAP. 1 2 1 1 Quote
Ray Stonada Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago There seems to be a weird arrogance about the Everybody Eats thing… like, no matter what works we have to keep switching guys out and running different plays to prove how nobody is above the scheme. Instead of like, I don’t know, letting your best players play except when they need rest? Quote
MikePJ76 Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago (edited) They seemingly took Shakir out of the game fairly easy last night because they didn’t have to worry about covering Kincaid and Coleman could not win outside. cook should have touched the ball on nearly every play last night in the second half and they just stopped giving him the ball. from the minute they stopped running and Allen took a ten yard loss on a first down sack cook was never the point of emphasis again. Not using cook all the time in the second half was a mistake and hopefully it never happens again. Edited 6 hours ago by MikePJ76 3 2 Quote
JohnnyBuffalo Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Yeah I liked everybody eats when they would work what’s working until it slowed down and then they’d feed someone else for a minute. Last week before their first lost I read Brady said he knew they needed to get Ray Davis more involved…I immediately had concerns that they’d force it even though James Cook had been on fire. Absolutely maddening philosophy being forced instead of being organic. Quote
HappyDays Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago I don't mean this as a criticism but Shakir is a limited player. He does his one trick extremely well and for that alone I think he is worth his contract, but he is not someone you want to rely on down in and down out. His failure to make what has become a pretty routine sideline catch in the modern NFL is a good example of what I mean. And just to be clear I don't blame him for not making that play. It's not his fault he's been elevated into the role of full time slot WR when his proper role is YAC specialist that you manufacture a few touches for. 1 2 Quote
MPL Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Every WR on the Bills has such a specialized skillset that it's easy for the defense to know what every WR is going to do. 1 Quote
Blackbeard Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Everybody eats is just a red herring for the Bills only being able to afford mediocre players. 1 Quote
Billsfanatic8989 Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago The fact Shakir needs to be a focus point of the offense is an indictment on Beane. 1 Quote

Correct: but it’s also a misallocation of resources and a failure in talent evaluation. The Stepfords on the board refuse to believe their lying eyes. I mentioned this last week and it wasn’t well received. They’ve got a lot of work to do. Pickens for a 3rd and 5th would’ve looked pretty good in red, white, and blue. But I guess the culture and locker room are too fragile for that. Quote

There is no reason, IMO, that Shakir shouldn’t have the volume that Beasley had. There is nothing that Beasley could do that Shakir can’t. He can split the safety’s better than Beasley….like Shakir did against Detroit. Quote

Belichick commanded team-first obedience from the Patriots as well, but he was willing to give ANY player a chance on the roster regardless of why they were being cut, traded, etc. Chiefs have had that same mentality as well. Makes it a lot easier to stockpile talent. 1 Quote
Buffalo Ballin Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Because Cole Beasley was playing behind a prime Superstar Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis (who was a good decoy) to take pressure off of him. That's why Beasley looked good. Shakir and Kincaid don't have those factors. Quote

Cuz you remember Pickens wanted out of Pittsburgh cuz he felt he wasn't getting enough targets right? Cuz he'd get more here because...? Quote
Jerome007 Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Taking out Cook too much when you're down makes no sense. But yesterday it was worse, with the momentum he had, and how the Falcons were "overusing" Robinson. With all the blitzes the Falcons were doing, why not, you know, use the classic counter of a sweep pass to Cook while the wideouts have run deep to create space? They started the 2nd half with Hawks and Gilliam, and it worked. Then... no more running game. Why? It was instead time to bring back the 6th OLine package. With Hawk as well, talk about a running game heaven! Shavers can block well (he had a BAD 1st half but good second), and Knox and even Kincaid too. And the Oline is much better than in the past. You do NOT need to get "cute" to pick 1 or 2 yards! It's maddening. As for the D, I just don't get how they often get blown up in the 1st half yet adjust well in the 2nd. Why the wait? Quote

If you were willing to trade a 3rd and 7th for a washed Cooper, of course it wouldn't make sense kick the tires on very talented player in their prime, in a "show me" year. Beasley was a route runner/separator. Shakir is a YAC specialist that you scheme touches for. Quote
