Roundybout Posted Tuesday at 04:06 AM Posted Tuesday at 04:06 AM (edited) Tre White left us as a beloved All-Pro defensive back who got hit with two brutal injuries. Now, he’s back. And he’s unplayable. I’d argue he’s unrosterable. He is constantly 15 yards away from receivers. He takes horrific penalties because he can’t keep up anymore with offenses. I can’t recall the last big play he’s made for us. White needs to retire for the good of his legacy. It’s such a shame to watch. I’d argue it’s borderline selfish for him to keep going like this. Riverboat Ritchie Posted Tuesday at 04:08 AM Posted Tuesday at 04:08 AM Give me a break. Coaches just need to put in better player. Trey needs to be a backup at best but I don’t blame him 4 1 3 2 Quote
Walking Tall Posted Tuesday at 04:09 AM Posted Tuesday at 04:09 AM Ja’Marcus Ingram must be real bad because there is no excuse for White to still be out there. Funny thing is….I thought Ingram showed well last season. Shows how much I know. 1 7 Quote

Mike in Horseheads Posted Tuesday at 04:53 AM Posted Tuesday at 04:53 AM Man do they need Hairston back 1 6 Quote
MainEvent Posted Tuesday at 04:58 AM Posted Tuesday at 04:58 AM He was brought here to be a vet backup that knows the system and provide mentorship to Hairston. The Hairston injury caused Tre getting significant playing time. It’s on Beane to adjust. 3 1 Quote
Bruffalo Posted Tuesday at 05:03 AM Posted Tuesday at 05:03 AM Nobody out there was making plays with the defense as called. they did a lot better in man coverage. Man requires more athleticism. Seems pretty clear to me that the zone scheme is being called incorrectly or has glaring problems with the implementation. 2 1 Quote
paulmm3 Posted Tuesday at 05:12 AM Posted Tuesday at 05:12 AM (edited) Agree it's on the coaches to find a better option than Tre White at CB. I don't see how anyone could expect him to be even competitive this year after the Rams - who had as bad a defense last year as we did - healthy scratched him last year then traded him for a 7th round pick swap. I don't fault him for continuing to play as long as he's given a job and I don't fault him for the age and injury related decline. Edited Tuesday at 05:14 AM by paulmm3 1 Quote
90sBills Posted Tuesday at 05:15 AM Posted Tuesday at 05:15 AM Legacy? He’s trying to maximize his rapidly ending mediocre playing career. 2 Quote

Played well during Week 1 in White's steed and would cycle in for White when they needed a change of pace. And now he's on Injured Reserve as well. 2 1 Quote

Maine-iac Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago London was catching all the passes. Last I knew he plays slot. Unless White was the slot corner I'm not sure how all the coverage problems can be White. I personally think we have two safeties and every LB not named Bernard or Milano that can't play zone coverage. Probably why we played much better when we switched to man. 3 Quote
Blackbeard Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago I don't think he was brought here as a starter, but due to circumstances.... 1 1 Quote
Brianmoorman4jesus Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago You gotta at least try him at safety. We are here now. We don’t have an endless supply of options. He’s on the roster. Try to see if he can move there, evaluate it and if he can’t move on 1 1 Quote
JAMIEBUF12 Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago I wonder if he could transition to safety? A lot of good cornerbacks have done this. Seems Trey still has good instincts and is a good tackler. If he is not tasked with guarding the #1 and #2 receiver I think he would be fine. I don't even think that was the Bills plan when they resigned him. He was supposed to be the 3rd corner but Hairstain got hurt in camp. GO BILLS! Quote

I am not defending T White here, because he is a shell... the sad thing is that he is likely the best we have to offer at CB2.... that is on Beane not White... in the end he isnt even our worst DB to your London point... like... this guy is their best reciever, he is killing us... like at somepont could we at least have a warm body cover him... like anyone... that wasnt on Tre... he also had a pass breakup in that game and another defended pass if the receiver didnt run into him resulting in him getting a BS call for PI... to your point... if we are gonna call for White's head... why are we not calling for Rapp, Bishop, and Johnsons head too... although TJ did make one nice play... their coverage and tackling are abominable.. this is literally the worst secondary I can remember in 50+ years of being a Bills fan... 4 minutes ago, Brianmoorman4jesus said: You gotta at least try him at safety. JAMIEBUF12 Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago Weird thing about this bad secondary is I always thought that was Mcdermott's speciality. Maybe he just dosn't have the horses. The Bills got lucky when they landed Poyer and Hyde in their prime. 1 Quote
34-78-83 Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago White played better than Benford the other night ( obviously Benford was dinged but still ). It’s has also been exaggerated to some degree on just how poorly White has been playing by folks that happen to see him on the screen and are literally guessing as to what his coverage responsibility is on a given play. He’s most certainly on the down side and has lost speed and some burst, that is for certain. He’s probably best as a cb3 ( not unrostersble) but for reasons we already know, has had to play cb2. 5 Quote
