Probably pretty high. He has a bunch of very good skill position players around him and should have time in the pocket, and will likely have open guys considering our coverage issues. Plus with the tackling issues on D, I would expect a lot of YAC too.

On an unrelated note - I forgot how quickly the national media can bail on you when you have a bad game.  I've seen some already calling it a "passing of the torch" to the Pats.

 

Would be cool to see them lose to the Saints & us win this one convincingly on Monday.  If only to see the "analysts" do backflips frantically.

 

Living in New England, the insufferable Pats fans are out in full force after beating the Bills. The Bills hopefully do not go into the bye in second place in the division. Hopefully the Saints beat the Pats and the Bills win so that Pats fans lose interest again. That's a lot of hoping on my part.

I would say start to brace for it now. Might help soften the blow (as opposed to thinking the Bills will come out all buttoned up and shut down Atlanta) come game time.

If I were in New England I would walk around wearing my Yankees shirt and Yankees hat and ask them, how are they enjoying the baseball playoffs.  The Yanks are still alive with a big win last night.

Bills need to come out with discipline. Buttoned up. Ready to play - HARD. On both sides of the ball.

We need this win. We "should" win. Things get tough after the Carolina game.

The Pats could easily be 7-2 by November 2 and 10-3 coming off the bye to face the Bills in week 15: https://www.patriots.com/schedule/. What a freaking easy schedule.

On to Atlanta.  Stopping Bijan is the priority.  No different than they did with Hall and Achane. I think this is a get right spot for the Bills as a team.  Offense plays a clean game.  Defense gets out to a fast start.  Their offense is good on paper.  London and Pitts are hot and cold.  Defensive head coach and wants to win a certain way.  Allen and the offense come out hot imo creates a style Atl will have trouble matching.

My concern is that, historically, these "lulls" seem to last for multi-game stretches.

Yeah, I think it's pretty plain that this Bills team is good but not great. I think the offense will bounce back, and the defensive reinforcements, especially Oliver, should make a difference, but they're no juggernaut the way they have been in the past. The only real hope of going all the way is that no other team looks great, either. Or that Hairston is a revelation and someone tells Brady that Kincaid is on the team. Or Beane trades for a CB and WR. Or all of these things. 

 

Anyway, a good humbling may be just what the team needed.

With finishes in the standings at 13-4, 11-6, 13-3 etc. it is obvious the Bills have shaken off last week's loss multiple times a season.

Yes, we've won after losing. No duh.

 

The point is, bad games arent used as "wake up calls" where we show up the next week fired up and dominate, or at least execute at an extremely high level. Or go on some tear where coaches and/or players are talking about "That week 4 game left a bad taste in our mouths and we wanted to come back out and prove who we are". Its always the same "steady, consistent" trudge.

 

We lose a game, we come out the next week with the same low level of intensity, plug along and squeak out another win against an inferior opponent.

 

And yes, there is something to be said for steady, consistent leadership that never gets too high or too low. But football is an emotional game as well, and sometimes it would be nice to see a team that is pissed off, locked in, and ready to stomp an inferior opponent.

 

And sure, we've blown some teams out. But it wasnt from any wake up call off a bad performance.
