Gabe is still on the practice squad IR. We have no idea what his status is. 1 Quote
Success Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Gabe PLUS a trade for someone like Meyers would change our offense significantly. 1 Quote
boyst Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Davis, Shakir and some tall white dude maybe Kincaid are playing golf right now. Quote

Not sure if you have seen any of his play from last season with the Jags when he was healthy, but he did not look to be a guy who could help this offense. He looked like a JAG Quote

Yeah had to be his best regular season game...before that play he caught a 98 yard bomb on 3rd down on the opening drive for a TD. Also the Indy playoff game where he was making absurd sideline catches in critical big play moments deep down field. 1 Quote

I thought that it was important to get TBD to stop playing Internet Orthopedist by blaming Kincaid for playing golf while injured. Quote

When he was throwing downfield during the scramble drill it was to a covered guy. Even Gabe Davis could get open given that much time. Allen can’t win with these cats. There seems to be this assumption that anytime Allen scrambles for 10 seconds that it is because everybody failed him. For whatever reason the last few weeks Allen has leaned into hero ball pretty heavily, looking off high percentage plays in order to huck down field for low percentage options. It has been most prevelant the last two weeks but noticible for the last 6 weeks. I love the dude, he is one of one, but he just doesn't seem like he has had a great feel for the offense this year. Even on a lot of his scrambles he will roll out with 15 yards of green grass in front of him, and throw up a prayer on 2nd and 10 rather than take an 8 yard scamper to leave us with 3rd and easy. But if you think, if healthy, he'd provides less than Tyrell Shavers or Elijah Moore - you're crazy. There's a difference between a player who isn't someone you want starting (Gabe) and a player who is giving us absolutely nothing (Shavers, Moore). And as for him not being signed by anyone else until we signed him to the Practice Squad, most teams aren't in the practice of signing players who are injured. They usually visit with the player and check in on their rehab (as the Steelers, Saints, and 49ers did) and circle back when they're ready to play. Our entire receiving group other than Shakir are giving us pretty much nothing. We barely throw to any of them, except Keon on the sideline when he is blanketed. We design almost nothing down the field for our WR's. We hit two nice passes to Palmer and then he was injured. We have barely used Moore. Samuel only dressed for two games, and we did not target him once down the field. Keon can not catch on the boundary. Get him running in the middle of the field. As for Shavers, figure out what he is good at, and give him some targets. As for Shakir, get him the ball all over the field, not just within 3 yards in front or behind the LOS. Sure our WR's are not game breaker burner types. But my goodness we are scheming almost nothing down the field. Elijah Moore was above average in his career before coming to Buffalo. Get him the frikin ball down the field some!! The same with Samuel!! Our passing scheme is absolutely absurdly terrible!! And this is with probably the best QB in the league. Get rid of Joe Brady if he can not orchestrate an NFL passing game. And if McDermott does not want him to. Get rid of McDermott too. So if you want to dress Gabe, make sure we throw him the ball. Running is fine. But you had better be able to make plays in the passing game, otherwise you are not winning anything. This is not the Chicago Bears of 1985. And even they threw deep to Willie Gault and Dennis McKinnon a decent amount. 1 Quote
