How can someone be a bust 4 weeks into his NFL career without getting playing time.

Landon should be getting defensive reps ahead of Solomon since Solomon hasn’t shown anything, but I know he plays STs as well so he keeps getting a jersey. McD said a couple weeks ago Landon was close to playing, so it was a surprise he wasn’t up for this game.

Jackson was doing less than Solomon. He’s just kinda plays patty cake with the tackle. There’s a reason he’s inactive.

He doesn't play Special Teams. And obviously between what we saw during the Pre-Season (yikes) and what we haven't seen in Practice - they feel what they're seeing doesn't warrant playing him over Javon Solomon.

 

Really as simple as that. If what we saw from him in the Pre-Season were an anomaly and he looked like he was someone who would be an upgrade of any kind in Practice, he'd be active. The fact that he isn't really says all that needs to be said.

I will say though if you were someone who was expecting a Superstar, especially right out of the gate, from the kind of caliber prospect that you find at the Defensive End position in Round 3 - you were setting yourself up for disappointment.

Is expecting a 3rd round pick to sit the bench, he’ll, not even dress a quarter of the way through the year acceptable? Terrible draft pick once again. They win despite their coaching and GM.

Considering the opponent? Did you watch yesterday? I’m sure rookies who have been healthy scratches would have really helped a bunch 😂

This may be a naïve question, but why then draft a DE in the third round, when it seems you're much more likely to find a quality player at another position? That never made sense to me. Better a good prospect at a position where you're ok (like WR or RB, cough) than a weak prospect at DE.

This is just a subset of Bills fans who seek to whine about anything they can latch onto. 

 

It’s a shame, really, because it takes away from legit dialogue regarding what he needs to do to improve. He does seem to be a bit of a one trick pony, but we knew he wasn’t a finished product. Let’s all be glad he’s not on a lousy team where we would throw him to the wolves because we didn’t have better options.

I don’t play 20/20 draft hindsight games, especially 4 games into a young man’s career. There will almost always have been a better option if you want to look backwards, but that’s not how it works.

I thought it would be obnoxious to cherry pick the third round to make my point, but since you ask, it would have been nice to have cornerback Jonas Salker, who knocked down and then intercepted passes from Allen on successive plays yesterday; he was available, as was Cam Skattebo. 

 

Also, I'm not saying there were 1st and 2nd round talents in the third round, just like I didn't say there were future Hall of Famers to be had there. What is up with the straw man fixation in this community? Do you have to put outrageous claims in the mouths of people you disagree with in order to respond to them?
