What would be the motivation to suddenly decide to pull this halfway through camp?

My wishful thinking is that we told his agent he could potentially be traded, so this is now a holding pattern until then.

My realistic thought is that his agent has no idea how to handle this situation when Beane doesn’t seem to have any desire to budge off a certain number.

The reason a trade goes through my mind is the sudden attitude shift towards Getzenberg implying this wasn’t a one off today.

I think your mom just called down to the basement that your meatloaf is ready...

How did mothers get involved in this thread? Family attacks should be off limits.

There is zero chance Beane moves him--- if put any amount of $$$ down on that.

Its a strategy from his agent, heading into preseason week 1.  No reason for Cook to play a single snap in preseason, from his perspective.  Thats the reason.

Cook is also a super competitive individual, and completely about the team.  He won't miss regular season games.  This is the way for him and his agent to nudge Beane along with contract.

Season is basically over for Hairston with this injury and the missed practice time. McDermott won’t play him or trust him.

He will if he is ready to play. But this majorly reduces those chances.

That was my initial thought as well. I don't understand the reasoning of going through camp, saying you're here to work, then just... Not. The only reason I can think is he either got lowballed so bad that he feels slighted or that they informed him/his agent that he's getting traded.

Now I'm on team pay the man so I don't really want to see him traded, but he's likely one of the only few players they have that could be part of a big trade instead of giving up multiple 1st round picks.

LOL...this thread has officially jumped the shark.

It did when you went beyond belittling the poster. Just saying, you don’t know the guy’s mother or family background, keep the disses to him without the extra.

It has nothing to do with his mother.

The joke implies that he's some basement dwelling troll that hasn't reached escape velocity from his parents house.

It's quite remarkable that I'm going to need to explain my joke to you.  The dis is on the original poster, not his mother.  The joke is that he lives in his mother's basement and she just called down to tell him his meatloaf is ready.

Good grief.

In the practices I went to last week all Wilkerson did was get open and catch everything thrown to him.  He was running with the ones quite a bit - my brother at one point the first practice said "Who the hell is 82 that keeps catching the ball"

I wasn’t aware that you had to be an NFL player to criticize players. Maybe you need to teach that lesson to others on here.

Criticize and what you did by simply demeaning a player who has stayed with the org for the past two years working his tail off to make his dream come true are two different things.

Unfortunately I just dont think you understand that

Guess I’m sensitive to jokes involving one’s mother. Would rather do without them on this message board period, but you do you, I suppose.
