BillytheKid Posted July 17 Author Posted July 17 This guy does a good job in my opinion at least of showing how Josh Allen has played against Mahomes in the playoffs after Nick Wright tries to say Mahomes has outplayed him in every playoff game. Has some great stats and info in it. Quote

I tried to use per game averages also, so that way no Baltimore fan or anyone else can use the excuse Allen has played more games cause Lamar got hurt. Next images are what records each has broken or has so far in the league. Without being Bias, which I know would be hard, who looks like the better career QB using stats? Josh Allen’s playoff stats stretched out to an entire year would be MVP-worthy. Beane/McD really need to get their defense clicking this year. Quote

I think here should be no adjustment when comparing QBs because one was injured more (or was not able to play through the injury). That is a part of what make a great player a great player. Josh by double has the most consecutive starts including the playoffs at 114. Jared Goof is the next one down in the low 50’s. I’m so sick of the “the way Allen plays will get him hurt”. It’s utter BS. The most important quality is availability, not ability. Josh is the best QB in the NFL, and in 10 years will be an all time great and again in another 10 years a first ballot HOF. I look forward to some day, that day. God love JA17. 2 1 Quote
KOKBILLS Posted July 17 Posted July 17 Josh is better... Especially when you consider the indisputable fact that the Bills are about to go on a 5-year-consecutive Super Bowl Championship run... There is no way to argue with that logic... Quote

It's far easier to not make or lose a Super Bowl than win won based on simple mathematics/statistics. agree with everything you said.. 100%.. But I would like JA to at least MAKE IT to a SB.. I think that's the only disappointing thing about his career so far. Quote

If OBD's investment on D pans out ... I think that Allen and Jackson have made noticeable improvement over the last few years in terms of raising up their floor. I don't know I'd say the same about Mahomes and Burrow. Maybe that's the difference of being at the top vs trying to get to the top. Quote

bigduke6 Posted July 17 Posted July 17 (edited) i like Lamar, seems like a genuine good dood, legit great player. its JA17 all day every day for me, wouldnt swap any other QB in the league for Josh, even Kermit. Edited July 17 by bigduke6 Quote
Ray Stonada Posted July 18 Posted July 18 12 hours ago, BillytheKid said: On a per game basis Allen has been just as good as Mahomes stat wise in the playoffs. I can show those side by side. Both are other worldly elite in playoff stats. obviously the biggest difference in those would be Mahomes 4-0 record against Allen. Just stats though Allen is ahead of him in a few categories on a per game basis. Other differences would be: Mahomes 17-4 playoff record, Allen 7-6; Mahomes 3 Lombardis, Allen 0. Now you can argue that's about KC's defense vs. the McD's defense, but the fact remains that these tip the argument heavily in Mahomes favor for now. I believe the Bills' time is coming and Josh can even the score within a few years. Quote
Ray Stonada Posted July 18 Posted July 18 PS Looked up some fun facts: Best all-time QB playoff win %: Bart Starr, 9-1, .900 The only player in NFL history with multiple playoff wins and no losses: FRANK REICH (2-0) Quote

To this day I still can't believe they came back from 35-3 in the 3rd quarter. That will never happen again at least in my lifetime. Edited July 18 by Gregg 1 Quote

I don't disagree with this, Unfortunately until he has a Ring its still a mark on his record. I Pray the defensive additions player wise, and McDermott saying this offseason that he knew changes needed to be made, will finally pay off. We are a defense that holds up in the AFCCG from having 2 Titles already. 1 Quote

While I wouldn't argue the defense played well in this most recent AFCCG.... it did "hold up" and make a couple of plays when it needed to in order to give the offense the ball and a chance to win the game. They couldn't get it done. It is not as simple as "improve the defense" to me. They still need a game breaker in the pass game for those situations. And they haven't. Quote
Rich Stadium Original Posted July 19 Posted July 19 ESPN recently did their rankings of teams in terms of skill positions (WR,TE,RB), and the Bills came in 28th out of 32 teams, while the Ravens came in 8th. Every Ravens game I watched last season, a well protected Jackson seemed to be just playing catch with wide open receivers..while in Buffalo, where Allen did have good pass protection, he still extended plays on multiple occasions and threaded the needle on windows to receivers that WEREN'T that wide open...or using his legs when a play just wasn't there. In my opinion THATS why he is the league MVP. Can't look purely at the numbers. Quote
