EmotionallyUnstable Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago Ruff making comments like that is self-incriminating. I’ll be at the game tmrw with my daughter. Her first ever game so hoping she’ll be the kick-start good luck charm they need to not be eliminated before Thanksgiving 1 Quote

We have a goalie standing on his head, and the rest of the team is hot garbage in every phase. Lindy may not have it anymore, and we know Adams is inept. Hopefully this is a Hoosiers movie moment when the players aren't buying the philosophy at first,.....then....., But that's wishful thinking. Adams should have been gone.....after that I don't know yet. Jimmy Chitwood ain’t walking through that door. Quote

QCity Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago They look completely checked-out. The body language, the hanging heads, just floating around out there. This usually happens in Jan/Feb when they get mathematically eliminated. I've never seen it this early in the season. Something has to give here as this is abhorrent to watch. Do we need to get a billboard fund going? Quote
May Day 10 Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Another 6 years and maybe Pegula and Adams figure this out. The team is dead on their feet 3 games into the season. Quote

Do we need to get a billboard fund going? I thought they competed and looked pretty good most of the game. They are actually playing sound defensively. They just can't generate enough quality scoring chances while playing anything resembling defense and the power play is abysmal. Early injuries have not helped. I thought this team would need everyone healthy and performing near career highs to be in the wild card picture and so far without Norris, Benson, and Kesselring thats pretty much what it has looked like to me. 100% of their practice time should be spent on Power Play. They could actually be in these games as loser point merchants with an average power play. Penalty kill has been solid. Lyon has been decent. Quote
May Day 10 Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Seth Appert coaches the powerplay. He should be coaching SUNY Morrisville. 2 Quote
DD4Bills Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Dumpster fire. Lindy and (hopefully) Adams don’t make it to November, and expect Thompson and Dahlin to start making trade demand noises before end of December. Quote

EmotionallyUnstable Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago (edited) As previously mentioned, I was fortunate enough to bring my daughter with me to her first game this afternoon. We sat in the 200s, had an awesome view and some good company around us. We indulged in some popcorn, ice cream and beers while taking in the game. The performance on the ice was brutal. I am By no means a hockey guru. I know enough to carry a conversation. I listen to the radio, track the scores, watch a game here and there…but I do know enough that when your C is sending a cross ice pass in front of his own net that gets taken the other direction for a goal, something is off. They barely mustered up anything on the power plays, and there was nothing much to cheer about otherwise. I thought the only player that gave anything positive was the goalie, despite giving up a few goals that seemed to be more reflective on the team than on him. Regardless, I feel lucky to have these kind of experiences to share with my kids, despite the awful performance. At one point in the 3rd, we looked down and saw a row of guys with brown paper bags on their heads in the 100s. My little one asked what I was laughing at, so I explained the whole concept about losing, embarassment, shame etc. She asked if she could join them, but we didn’t have any bags. At this point she proceeded to dump the remainder of her popcorn on her head in an act of solidarity. Life long Sabers fans, or first game ever, I think we’re all in agreement this team isn’t headed in the right direction. It’d be nice if sometime in her lifetime, they could give her something to cheer about that isn’t self-deprecating. Hey, at least the concessions were expensive! Go Sabers!!! It will mark the 20-year anniversary since the first winter classic at the current stadium. They want to do another one at the new Bills stadium. Quote

I think you're being verrrry generous here. They were somewhat competitive up until the Dahlin turnover. After that it felt like the life was gone from both the team and the arena. They gave up in the 3rd and got outshot like 15-4. The odds of re-signing Tuch are going down with each game. He may have loved this team as a kid, but there's no way he wants to spend the rest of his career like this. Quote

The Sabres were supposed to look sharp. They should have come out hard and run them out of the building. Not that kind of team. Not that kind of organization. Quote
Mike in Horseheads Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Watching the post game interviews was sad. Thompson didn't want to talk about the game or 0-3. Dahlin didn't have much to say either and talked like he was in a library. Quote
oldmanfan Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Soft. I can’t believe Ruff would allow guys to be soft. Replace ADams fine, but it ain’t the coaching. We’ve had too many coaches and we see the same thing every season. Soft teams with no hustle, no fight, no will to win. Quote

I don’t think that will happen until after the Olympics. Particularly Thompson. He wants a spot on the Olympic team and will not want to have any indications that he puts his own goals in front of team goals. But game on after the closing ceremonies. Quote
