Billsfed1 Posted June 25 Posted June 25 (edited) Who ya got? I wanna preface this post by saying I assume both guys are healthy 90% of the season or better. Now that’s obviously not a guarantee with Diggs at the stage of his career that he’s in, and Shakir’s propensity to get popped over the middle, but we’ll roll with them both being healthy. My gut says Shakir. Here’s why: Diggs (I think) is still the superior athlete in terms of speed and breaking ability, but Shakir has the edge in bendiness and hands x100. Maye isn’t working with the O-line Buffalo has. He’s in year two…has other guys to worry about in terms of spreading the ball around, and the lunatic he’s got now ran out his welcome in Houston after one year. Josh was a saint to deal with this guy as long as he did IMO. For Shakir, the style of offense Buffalo runs doesn’t lend him to have some crazy 1500 yard season (i don’t think) but I still see him as the focal point of the passing game and I think he clips the 1000 mark this season. For reference their 2024 numbers: Diggs 47 rec 496 yards 3 TD’s Shakir 76 rec 821 yards 4 TD’s Edited June 25 by Billsfed1 1 Quote
MasterStrategist Posted June 25 Posted June 25 Only reason Diggs comes close to Shakir production, is bc of lack of weapons in NE or a Khalil injury. Diggs was the superior player, but coming off a torn ACL and a 2nd yr QB that I think is good/not great--- Shakir is also trending up still. I think Shakir gets close to 1k yards this season. He's going to have more opportunities open up for him, when Kincaid, Keon, and Palmer all step up. Lots of mouths to feed, but I see a highly efficient offense again. 1 1 Quote
sunshynman Posted June 25 Posted June 25 Shakir. He’s a stud. Diggs needs pink coke to get it up these days. And he sucks. 2 Quote

H2o Posted June 25 Posted June 25 Shakir. He'll have his Cole Beasley 2.0 type numbers. Between 65-85 catches, for 750-950 yards, with 4-8 TD's. Diggs is coming off an end of October torn ACL, is almost 32, and heading into a new offense. He'll put up similar numbers to last year, even if he plays a full season. 1 Quote
GunnerBill Posted June 26 Posted June 26 The Diggs numbers last year came in 8 games. He was on pace for north of a thousand yards in an offense where he was not the primary target. A year on, in an offense where he is clearly gonna be the best guy, but with a less proven QB and coming off an ACL I'm not sure he will be in a thousand yard territory again but I think he will have a decent year. Shakir will put up similar numbers to last year I will take him in the head to head on yards, Diggs head to head in touchdowns. But it will be close. In both. 1 2 Quote
Kirby Jackson Posted June 26 Posted June 26 This is a good question and I think it’ll be pretty close. Each will get a decent amount of targets. I’d probably say receptions: Diggs, yards: Shakir and TDs are a bit of a crapshoot. 2 Quote
The Cincinnati Kid Posted June 26 Posted June 26 I could give a toot about Diggs and his production in New England or La Liga. Who cares? 1 1 Quote
NewEra Posted June 26 Posted June 26 I think Diggs gets more targets and have a better stat line. I think Shakir is the better player 2 Quote
Victory Formation Posted June 26 Posted June 26 I suspect that they will post similar numbers… 80-85 catches for 800-1,000 yards and 6-8 TDs.. 1 Quote
Alphadawg7 Posted June 26 Posted June 26 (edited) If healthy - Diggs probably gets 20-30% more targets as he has less competition for targets and Maye will probably lean on him, as he should. But I think Shakir is going to be more efficient and be more important to his team this season. I think their season totals in terms of receptions and yards end up somewhat close, but based on target volume Diggs probably edges him out. But I expect Shakir to be more efficient, more clutch, and make more significant plays while likely leading in things like YAC, catch %, YPC, etc. I do think Diggs still has a good season left in him if he truly isn't hampered by the injury and doesn't let Pats likely not contending for much kill his enthusiasm. But I would without question take Shakir over Diggs on my team for this season. Edited June 26 by Alphadawg7 1 1 Quote
Da webster guy Posted June 26 Posted June 26 Shakir is way better at YAC. Diggs has a lot of lateral runs and tries his best but doesn't have the contact balance or vision that Shakir has. Cant beat Steph as route runner but you can beat his attitude and his aging body. They're both game changers, later round draft picks, one is a team player and the other is a ME player. 2 Quote

Shakir is really a slot, but slot WR’s get a lot of yards. Diggs on the other hand is on the wrong side of 30, on a fundamentally mediocre team. Diggs was a great WR, but he’s getting older. For his sake, o hope he has a nice year with NE. Quote
frostbitmic Posted June 27 Posted June 27 I'd guess Diggs numbers will be that of Samuel this year, decent #3 numbers. I still think his Knee won't be right. Shakir is Josh Allen's #1, he wins this match up easily. Quote
