Among Bills fans he is for sure. He played pretty well last year and his presence was missed when he missed games.

Rapp is a good Safety, but not elite. He made several strong plays most notably for me against the Jets in making the game saving tackle where most Safeties would have been toast. He was solid throughout the year but not "special".

Schatz is the guy who once called Allen "a parody of a NFL quarterback" and also said, "the idea that Josh Allen could become an elite NFL quarterback pretty much defies math.”

I can't say I trust his judgment.

The Bills could use an upgrade at both spots ideally so I'm pulling for Bishop and Forrest this training camp.

It will be Rapp and whoever else at Safety this year.  Right now I see it being Forrest.

True but there's a difference between predicting a player's potential for the NFL and analyzing his play after getting there.

That being said, I hope they find an upgrade for him.  But at least I want an upgrade at FS.

just came to TSW to post this.  I like it.  I think we (myself included) perhaps overlook him because we had the Poyer/Hyde combo so long.  If you paired Rapp with another stud at safety, he'd look even better.  As is, he looks really good.

Improved last year.

Smart guy. he does call the secondary I believe ?

not fast but good play recognition , so he gets a step ahead . Persistent and finishes

 Underated ? Not by me

I don't see them replacing Rapp anytime soon.

Do not mind if Hamlin gets beat out , but good to have as a backup for sure

Hamlin flat sucks, and needs to be a backup at best.

If he were coming out of college, I would describe him as a high floor, low ceiling player.  His football intelligence and instincts allow him to be effective a good share of the time, and he is a good tackler.  His athletic limitations saddle him with a fairly narrow margin for error.  If an elite offensive player gets a bit of separation on Rapp, there is a high risk of a big play against the defense.  If the Bills have to start him, they can get by as long as they have enough talent around him, but if they had made it a priority, it shouldn't have been too hard to find an upgrade this off season.

Hamlin too me at this point, and I assume for his career, is going to be about the 40th best Safety in league at any time. He is not going to win us any games but is unlikely to lose us many.

He also was the only voter to give Allen an MVP vote in 2023 denying Jackson all 50 votes and took a lot of heat for it.  He voted for Lamar this year.  He takes his DVOA pretty seriously.

And fans talk about him like he is a bum.

We have Josh Allen, Dion Dawkin, Cook, and Benford, we are now accustomed to guys being top 5 or even all timers. Good time to be aBillsfan.

We need to improve and I feel Forrest is already an upgrade and we have a guy who is going into his 2md year we need to develop. Or at least see if he can be the guy.

Bishop right now can't beat out Forrest.  BUT... he should be given every chance throughout the year.

I am not in love with Hamlin but he does not scare me like most. I believe Hamlin is a JAG but recognize that their is a level below JAG at the pro level.
