I don't believe I have seen this topic circle back. It doesn't seem like this play can be officiated, can't spot the ball, can't see the ball. This might be lights out. Thoughts on the offside? I imagine the Eagles will lose a pinch of effectiveness knowing the refs are going to hawking this.

They cheat in the play plan and simple. Why the Bills are so stupid and can’t run this play anymore I don’t know, we used to do it fine. Just line up Offside and head dive into the ground and push Josh through a crack.

The Eagles have been false-starting on this play since they started doing it. Jason Kelce used to rock backwards, and then rock forward and downwards as he was snapping the ball. He was into the defensive line and on his stomach by the time Hurts got the ball. I have said that there is no need to ban the play. Just start calling the false starts. That will neuter it.

I've successfully drove home drunk over 50 times so their isn't any proof that it might lead to a crash.

Ironically as soon as fields pulls back, it’s a false start on the qb!

The Eagles when Jason was at center had the heaviest Oline in the NFL at 338 lbs average.

I don't think that any NFL team has 5 DTs that come close to that average. DTs usually are lighter than O lineman.  Some 1 T DTs may match that average since their job is to take on double teams but no team has 5 of 'em.

On a goal-to-go situation, do this until everyone in the stands dies of old age.

They can award a TD, they nearly did in the playoffs last year

Friggin' Travis Jason Kelce was there lobbying for the play.  Ridiculous.

It's not a football play and hopefully it's out next year.

You're absolutely right. Both guards false start by firing early. Yet a RT makes the slightest movement and 5 flags come out. This glorified rugby move will be justifiably banned next year.

Its 100% getting banned next year, I have zero doubt about it after the stink about illegal formations and false starting.

Safety wasn’t the correct narrative to discuss with this play. Yes, it looks dangerous and somebody will likely get rolled up and hurt bad eventually but officiating is a way bigger issue as far as game integrity.

The AFC championship should have been the catalyst. Poor officiating on that play could have cost us a Super Bowl birth. Not sure how that didn’t become bigger news in the push to get this play banned. You just can’t see the ball to even spot it. Then this Offside crap. It’s microseconds as far as the movement. This is starting to feel Patriot like in some ways. Then you say, how big is it to the Eagles success? It’s pretty damn big. I think we will be just fine. But that teams is basically playing 1st down and 9 to everybody elses 10 and ya, it adds up. If the play can’t be officiated correctly it has no place.

Eagles do move slightly early andthey don't call it

I've seen some where 2-3 lineman have some momentum before snap.. like you said milliseconds

They also need to call that

I agree the officials spotting are way over the place

"NFL to officials: Keep eye on false starts with tush push

"The NFL said the Philadelphia Eagles should have been flagged for at least one false start when they used the tush push against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday and instructed officials this week to call the controversial play "tight" going forward.

The message from the league, which was first reported by The Washington Post and later confirmed by ESPN, came in its training tape to officials, which was distributed to all 32 teams Wednesday.

[...]

"Anytime we have this situation we're in short yardage, we know we want to make sure that we officiate these plays -- the offensive team has to be perfect in every aspect," NFL vice president of officiating training and development Ramon George said, according to the Post. "We want to officiate it tight. We want to be black and white and be as tight as we can be when we get into this situation where teams are in the bunch position and we have to officiate them being onsides, movement early."

What exactly gets banned though?

the reason they dud away with the push from behind was it was hard to enforce because the player might have had another player between him and the other player.
