Well, to me, the Bills basically have to be like Secretariat to win their first SB, so being favored in every game makes sense.

Unfortunately I was at Saratoga the day Secretariat lost.  He actually was 16-3-1 in his 21 career starts.

I’ll make the bold prediction the perfect season will be over after week 1.   Typically passing offenses struggle more week one with the new preseason format, that impacts the Bills more than the Ravens and the Bills SHOULD be rolling out a bunch of rookie defenders.

Doesn’t. Mean. Jack.

Nor do any of the negative or positive opinions on this board, but from where I'm sitting it's nice to see the sports books trying to get folks to bet against the Bills.

Still historic. Never been to Saratoga during race season, kind of regret not doing so. Lost my mojo at this point for that size of a party scene. Drinking and betting is a bad combo for me, it was probably a good thing.

Clarkson or St. Lawrence?

Majority of the betting public back favorites.

The season finale vs Jets is very likely to be meaningless for the Bills. Starters will be resting. Jets +9.5 is a no-brainer.

If the Bills are 16-0 at that point I’d like to think McDermott would really try to win that game. It would be a dishonor to the players & fans if they didn’t

We’re pretty good football team

Not just good, exciting to watch good. You would think with more of a balanced O run and pass the Bills might not be as explosive looking. Not when you have James Cook.

Some bet with their heads and others with their hearts.

The sporting world loves them some Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills.

This year I feel better about the bills than I have since the start of the season following 13 seconds, and I like this team more.

The moves may well not workout, and it might be the same bitter tears in January, but but the theme of our losses has been lack of athletic ability and talent/depth on dealing with open book play calling on d in the playoffs.

They brought in new coaches who do some different things, they got the fastest corner, a pretty elite looking interior pass rusher, bosa Hoyt and ogunjobi, pass rusher Jackson, that science experiment in the 4th, and two real athletes who play utility (seems like the two of them can be depth in slot, out side CB, and safety) db stuff well.  We extended our better talent, and we signed palmer.

The only place we didn't get better was rb and lb, but we some horses there.

The biggest risk is injury (what else is new) and cook deciding he's gonna hold out.

Throw in a very easy schedule (extra home game year, Cincinnati Baltimore iggles and KC are all at home) and we have our best shot ever at the 1 seed and some actual NFL talent on the dline and secondary for the playoffs.

A team with Jordan Phillips and that other street guy we signed last year, with the ghost of von, getting a lot of reps on the line, and Hamlin, washed Douglas and Elam plus raw rookie bishop in the secondary in the conference chip game is just so much easier to play against than the same team with actual NFL talent all over the shop.

Can't wait

This wouldn’t be shocking at all. Balt is a good team. If this happens the week 2 game against the Jets becomes very pivotal in determining what kind of season it will be for us.

Agreed.  I won’t be surprised at all if Baltimore absolutely curb stomps the Bills week 1.  If the Jets are even competitive, I’ll be worried.

I agree with you that passing offenses struggle more week one, however, Buffalo is much more of a running team now than they have ever been during Allen's tenure.  I think this game will be super close and will come down to whoever has the ball last for the win.

Go Bills!!!!

I can’t argue the point in more runs than passes, but my thought is the Ravens will be prepared to stop the run (and have the personnel to do it) and to move the ball you will have to pass.  With what is still a questionable at best receiving core outside of Shakir, it will be interesting.    I’m rooting for the win, but I’m not going to be shocked if it doesn’t work out.  Baltimore is good and got better this offseason, they should be one of the favorites to win it all.   We aren’t asking about playoff Jackson, we are getting his best shot, it’s regular season lol.
