Watched this film for the first time in about 10 years last night.  Still loved it.  Feel it could very well be in my top #10 of all time

The nostalgic part that holds up still real well is the main character Rusty James was nostalgic for how life was with his brother and gang fights before he traveled cross country.  But yeah even back then this sorta hit the theme of You just can't go back in time kind of thing for prior life.

I saw that. It was good, slightly syrupy though! John would have loved some on his pancake stack. I usually hate it when they turn a dead famous person into a saint but I've never heard a single person in Hollywood who didn't say he was a great guy. I'd heard Conan's story about meeting him as a student before and it just shows how nice he treated people whether they were famous or not.

Casio was cranking out fine runners' chronographs throughout the 1980s, far better performing than the comparable Timex models.  Sadly, they abandoned that market, but still market the steel case models at greatly inflated prices. 🤨

I can still sing the entire theme song.

May I suggest a rousing chorus at the next Happy Hour you attend? Karaoke would be way too easy.

As a kid of the '70s, going through this car wash with your parents was the best.

Across the street from the drive-in (sometimes you even watched the movie!)

The first view of the field when you go to a game.

I grew up going to baseball games at Shea Stadium. As a kid walking from the outer concourse into the stadium and seeing the field for the first time was always kind of magical.  Even into my 20's  when my friends and I were getting in line for that first Harry M Stevens Bigger Beer I had to walk out to see the field before I got on the concession line.

Good times.

That's awesome! My first game was in 1971.

My wife grew up in Flushing in the 60's.  She may have spent more tima at Shea than at high school.  #7 Subway
