I don't understand the complaints here. A wr in his mid-20s with high end speed. He's not Jefferson or Chase... but his 61 catches would have been 2nd on the team last year by a wide margin. Nice add at a weak position for a relatively cheap price.

Genuine question.

Austin had good experience, arguably better coming in than Moore.

Proehl had a lot of raw unknown talent.

I wonder if this guy can make the roster? Would we keep 4 WR's and only 5 WR?

We should have 5 for sure - and he's a good 5th.

Curious to see what Beane discloses about this signing.  Moore visited day after draft concluded.  It appears this was in the works at least this past weekend if not longer.

Moore said previously that he and the Bills have been talking on and off for some time.  The plan was to wait until after the draft.  Personally, I prefer this option right now for a team chasing a championship.  A known quantity with upside vs a developmental draft project in the 4th or 5th round.

Yes.  Always a good idea to tip your hand to everyone else what you plan on doing pre, during and post draft to maximize the value you get.

They interviewed Moore before the draft and no one even knew about it anywhere.  That's good GMing.

EDIT:  And now in hindsight, it makes his remarks even more valid.  They were complaining that "you don't value WR the same as other teams" but was talking to a player at that position to try to help the WR room prior to the draft and signed him.  This is a a double "STFU" from the interview and signing stance.

All of this is fine, but the way Beane came off on the show, knowing he was still searching for WR seems over the top disingenuous…

Again, as I said before, all he had to do was say that he is always open to upgrading the roster, and his phone is always open…this doesn’t indicate tipping his hand at all…it’s simply a vague response that leaves the door open, instead of losing control of his emotions

The rest.

They did draft one this year.  With the first pick last year. They drafted Shorter the year prior and the year before that they picked Shakir.  What are we talking about?

Yes.  How about that?  Some never let facts obscure opinions.

Samuel was solid in the playoffs, but IMO he’s not a lock

Who has more talent? We don't need to save money with him being cut. $12mm in dead cap vs $9mm to pay.

Is this that much of an upgrade over Hollins? Basically the same price but Hollins was a guy that had chemistry with Josh and was productive for us last season.

completely different players

not sure about upgrade because Mack brought a lot as a football player and personality

but Moore has explosiveness and real speed. He’s played with trash QB’s for dumpsterfire organizations.

only 25. May feel “reborn” and show off who he was in college

as unlikely as it would be, if we did make a trade Samuel would be the likely player + a pick IMO

Weirdly, I'm very happy with this signing and yet at the same time I don't expect much from him.

I think he'll be the #5 receiver and will see only see limited action in specific packages - unless of course there's an injury.

I think we now have a respectable, though certainly not elite, WR room.

Low risk high reward move imo, Allen will be the best QB he's played with by a country mile. Love the 4.35 speed but only 5'9" 178 lbs is brutal although Antonio Brown was only 5'10" 185 lbs. so there's that.

he’s 5’10 and 181  according to google
