You can read all about it right here: https://finheaven.com/threads/tyreek-reeking-again.387172/ Not defending this because he’s an idiot. Also, Tua doesn’t belong in the top 5. Apparently though he started by saying, “excluding Tua here are my top 5” or something like that. The story has gone viral but evidently it’s not really accurate. Quote

So I present more facts that substantiate, and yet I get mostly responses that do not address any ideas and facts I presented Your point is valid. Bills fans automatically think we will pick up right where we left off in league scoring. But in fact, every year is different. Each new year is a complete reset. There is no "picking up where you left off". Our main competition is stocking up on WR because Reid knows the value. Ravens will be better. The bengals will be back in the mix. Watch out for the Chargers. We need to give Josh every tool available to be successful next season. And we have reloaded the defense several times already in McDermotts 10 year tenure. Does anyone honestly think this year will be different ? At least give Josh some new weapons in this completely new season to outscore teams in the playoffs. They gave Josh two new weapons in Palmer and Moore. You not liking their choices is not the same as the team not giving him any new weapons. 1 1 Quote

They have had significant investment but that doesn’t equal ability. I don’t think Hamlin + Rapp is top 20 in the NFL if that’s the way the room shakes out. More to the point, it’s very funny to me that in a topic that is largely about “should we invest more in WR” you rank the WR room like 10-20 spots below every other position group on the roster. Safety is a weak group in general around the NFL. Very few teams have legit starting safeties in a tandem. Poyer and Hyde were considered a top 3 duo, and they were not really household names around the league Rapp is a perfectly find starting safety. He would start on half the teams in the league. Hamlin is not, but you do have Bishop as a young safety with potential. Maybe they are closer to 20-22nd, but I wouldn't put them further down. CB are absolutely top 15 - the only question was CB2, but we drafted one in the first round. They have a legit top 15 CB group when you include Taron is a top 5 slot corner and Benford is a top 10 boundary corner D-line is the deepest group in the league. From 1-8 we have legit starting talent in the rotation. It lacks top end talent, but there's plenty of talent there. It may actually be top 10. Quote

Theres something in the water when it comes to WRs I think it's part of their psyches. It's why some very fast young football players become WRs while other just as fast young football players become DBs. And it seems like the more talented a WR is, the more likely he is to have be a self-absorbed, spoiled diva. Quote
Mikie2times Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago (edited) This thread is going to be silly in a few more months. I don’t think I want to be on the “WR are good enough” side of it. Good luck all. Bets have been placed. Edited 12 hours ago by Mikie2times Quote
GunnerBill Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago 15 hours ago, JakeFrommStateFarm said: And we have reloaded the defense several times already in McDermotts 10 year tenure. I don't think this is true. We had a core - White, Hyde, Poyer, Milano (all played together for SEVEN seasons). Taron joined them a year later and played that group SIX seasons. Tremaine joined the same year but left a year before the three vet DBs and played with that group FIVE seasons. Ed Oliver joined year later and played with that core for FOUR seasons. That was seven core guys who were brought in during the first 3 years of this regime. Over the last couple of years that they lost four of those core guys. And this is the first attempt since at really reloading the defense. What it is accurate to say is they have had multiple versions of the Dline around Oliver in that time. Largely that has been mid tier FAs... and I agree they have not always spent that money well. They have made two big investments there - Groot in round 1 who has been good but not great; and Von as a FA which for injury reasons ultimately failed. But this is the first attempt to actually remake the defense since those guys brought in through the first three years of the regime. We are entering year nine. It is reasonable at this point that you need to do that. Tbh the Bills D kinda bucked the trend in terms of staying together and being productive for five seasons. That isn't me saying they have done enough at receiver. I am pretty vocal about where I think they are still lacking and their under prioritisation of the position over the past 3 or 4 offseasons. I wanted Christian Watson. I wanted to trade up for Jordan Addison. I wanted to trade up for BTJ. But I think the defense was talent deficient last year and it was right to try and kick start McDermott era defense 2.0 this offseason. Would just have been nice if they'd done more than baseline FA acquisitions at receiver at the same time. 2 Quote

I like Palmer especially and think he will be a good player for us. But let's not pretend that surrounding Allen with high level skill talent has been a top priority. 1 Quote
