Of the 3 players listed above, I think you’re most likely to see him replace snaps from Moore. Idt anyone would be coming in taking snaps from Coleman or Palmer (if healthy). Shavers is in as a blocking option and Samuel is a gadgety back-up to Shakir. 
 

I would think, much like these other guys, he’d garner roughly 35- 50% of snaps, much like Amari Cooper last year (yes I know he was banged up). I don’t see how this would command such attention that many are seeming to imply would open up our entire offense and make us unstoppable. 
 

Id be happy to be wrong, but those variables that you referenced are important. Nothing against the player. It’s just a bad mix of priorities in the offense, Allen’s trust and current level of performance, snap usage, and scheme. 

 

There really isn't an option out there that can take our Offense (specifically our passing game) from what it's been to "unstoppable". But that doesn't mean we should just go "well, we can't upgrade to unstoppable so why upgrade at all?".

 

Like I've said in another post, there may be no 5 Star fine dining options. But when you're literally eating spoiled, half eaten food out of a garbage can (as we are with those 3) - you'd kill for an order of food from Burger King.

 

Rashid Shaheed has proven to be a very dangerous, speedy deep threat. Just the threat of him getting open on go routes would be massive for us. It would serve for teams to not focus entirely on Cook and crowd the line - as teams know we have no one who can beat simple man single coverage.

 

Of course it would take some time for him to go beyond just a limited route tree. If he's willing to put in the work (as Cooper did) and stays healthy (as Cooper didn't) - I don't think it's the massive issue you think it will be.

 

The bottom line is that we need all the help we can get. Even a limited Shaheed (who has more yards this season than any of our WR's) for a couple weeks would be a massive upgrade over half of our WR core. We simply cannot continue with what we have and expect to compete, even for the division.

It's going to cost more than that for Shaheed. Reportedly there are multiple teams in the mix for him. With the need many teams have at WR combined with not a lot of WR's available and how Shaheed has looked this season - it will likely cost at least a 3rd, straight up.

Moore on the outside at the Bears, they have drafted Odunze and Loveland and Burden high - must be a chance they would consider moving the guy who is the ex WR1 there?

For the Bills to trade for Moore they would need to find $9 million more in cap.

Extend McGovern?  Seems like the easiest way to free up

$9 million(or more) cap space.

 

Shaheed 2025 salary is $1.23 million.  Beane can find that in his couch .

Shaheed may not be the sexy pick but let’s face it we have beer money on fine wine taste.  At least he checks a few boxes, he’ll draw attention from the opponents secondary, he has speed and he can also serve as a returner on special teams.

They seemed to find it for the succession of jags and sick notes they signed in free agency over the past couple years

If the Bills end up $hitting the bed in the playoffs this year, I would offer up the 2026 #1 pick and even 2027 #1 in order to acquire a proven #1 WR.
