You must have me confused with someone else. If you reread my original post in this thread, it says that we should shut down the porous southern border. That doesn't really jibe with leaving the door open, does it? As for the rest, America is a nation of immigrants. Why on gods green earth wouldn't you want the best candidates to immigrate? Too often we allow international students to attend US colleges over us citizens, (only to see them take that training back to their home country). Bring all of the same immigrants, I'm from a family of immigrants. The difference being one way is LEGAL and one is ILLEGAL. One way documents these people and makes sure they don't have bad intentions and are able to find gainful employment and not just continue to be poor in a different location. What I "want" or what most Americans "want" doesn't matter. Which is a secure border and a sensible immigration policy.
