LabattBlue
One always stands out to me every Saturday in the fall.... Being considered down in college football when a player with possession of the ball goes to the ground without a defensive player making contact. I don't even think there is a close second. All you old fogies on the NCAA rules committee need to loosen up a little bit, step out of the 1930's and stop talking about the good ole' days! ajzepp
I've always been annoyed at how fouling is an actual strategy in basketball.....I get tired of watching teams taking turns shooting foul shots. Greybeard
I'm taking the opposing view on both of these. The college rule is there to prevent guys from being hit when they are down. After all these guys aren't pro's and if it save a couple of kids from injury, it should stay. On the intentional walk, there are a lot of pitchers who cannot throw a strike after throwing 4 pitches out like that not counting the fact that they could throw a wild pitch. If they aren't skilled enough to do that, why should it be made easy for them. In fact there a pitchers who compensate for this lack of ability by throwing the next pitch rather fat. So keep the rule, make em throw it.

4everBills
With out a DOUBT, pass interference! Let them fight for the damn ball! Fine, a CB is literally riding the WR like a horse. Does that deserve a spot of the foul penalty? So, the QB can see a WR getting mugged, simply throw the ball at his feet and get a 50 yard penalty resulting in a HUGE gain? B.S.!!!!! First of all, why does ANY football player deserve to go down field un freakin touched? This IS a contact sport! Secondly, What gaurantees that the WR will actually CATCH the ball anyways? They drop all KINDS of balls! Thirdly, Who says the pass is on target? QB's throw off target all the time. Finally, penalize a standard yardage for each infraction. Why is a 50 yard pass interference worth more than a 2 yard pass interference? Whats to say the 2 yards throw wouldnt be caught and run for 50 yards? Holding penalties count a straight amoutn whether it would have resulted in a loss of yards on the run or a TD.

Alaska Darin
2 line pass in hockey. Want to eliminate the neutral zone trap? Get rid of the red line. Guest Guest
The 1/2 the distance to the goaline call in the NFL. Put the ball on the 1 inch line if there isn't enough yardage left. Also the free kickover on an onsides kick if the ball doesn't travel 5 yards in the NFL. Tough titty if it doesn't go 5 yards. You shouldn't get a re-do. billsfanone
Not really one rule... I hate the NFL changes the rules EVERY year! Or enforces them differently... Tuck rule one year, grasp rule another, this year it's the 5 yard bump and run... The "football move" to constitute a reception, etc. etc. etc.

Charlie68
The NFL rule I hate is when the offense fumbles the ball near the goal line and it goes out of bounds in the end zone, the the opposing team gets the ball. A fumble any other place that goes out of bounds goes to the team who had possession of the ball last. How is it that a team can fumble out of bounds, the D never even touches the ball, but there is a change of possesion? I think the team who had possession last (in this case, the O) should get the ball at the 2 yrd line, or the point where he lost the ball.
Corp000085
and as for rule i would take out it would have to be the instigator rule in hockey this rule singlehandedly has ruined hockey. It takes away the ability for teams to ref themselves. Instead, they are forced to play that clutch/grab crap. Lets put it this way, if a guy tried to hold down bert, shoney would kick the crap out of him on the next shift. that guy won't tough perrault again. Now, its legal to do all that stuff. I've been saying this about the instigator rule for a while now, but i cannot seem to get to colin campbell quick enough. another "rule" is the part time ref thing in the nfl. In fact, they might be full time now, but i remember that there was a stink about the refs having real jobs during the week so it impaired their game prep. Don't know if this is the case anymore, but if they are part time, make them full time so they can get better.

Rayzer32
This is an easy one. The "Dick-Out" rule. You know in golf when your playing from the Men's tees. You get the big dog out, step up to the tee box, take a hack like Tiger, and sure as stevestojan........your ball goes 20 yds and doesn't make it past the women's tee. This is where the "Dick Out" rule comes into play. Section IV, rule 36B, paragraph 3. When any male playing from the white tees fails to hit his drive farther than the ladies tee box, he must finish the hole with his dick out. Fortunately I have never had to do this myself, although many of my golf partners have.

There is nothing worse than losing an OT game by a FG without a possesion by your offense... ...except losing an OT game when the opposing team returns the opening kick off for a TD!!!!! I'm not quite sure the college format is the best but I do think that both teams should have the chance to field the ball offensively.

Guest Guest
Rules that I think should be installed or eliminated: NFL: Spiking the ball after a play that is not a TD...Should be 15 yard unsportsmanlike NCAA Football: Hash Marks brought in to NFL standard. NHL: Eliminate 2 line off sides. NBA: Less freaking Time outs! Major League Baseball: Anyone coming out of the dugout or bullpen during a fight should be thrown out. Heck the NHL could deal with bench clearing brawls , why cant the babies of baseball do it? NCAA Baseball: Wood only bats! MDH
How on earth can nobody have mentioned the DESIGNATED HITTER rule!?! There is no rule more stupid in all of sports. Here is our starting lineup...errr, wait, no, we don't want that guy to hit, he sucks, so we'll have somebody hit for him. It takes all half the strategy out of games not to mention lets the pitchers throw at the opposing teams players with no recourse because he doesn't have to worry about being throw at himself. Once the AL starts playing real baseball maybe I'll have some respect for the league... Any rule put in simply so the kinda-sorta fans can enjoy more offense is an idiotic rule. I have to say, college footballs OT system is a pretty close second though.
